We've had that before - not a complaint, it was a while ago and it's nice to see old friends.
Can't believe its still for sale. Wasn't it built by an eastern european fella who basically ignored every rule book there is in terms of planning etc? And churned out that absolute monstrosity of a faux castle with a million box sized rooms? And only £1m? Shut up and take my money biggrin
Some of the planning applications were ok but eventually it seems to have descended into retrospective applications half of which can no longer be seen. When you try to open them you get case not found. You'd need to see the legal pack to understand just what needs to be done to bring it onto compliance and i reckon it'll involve a bulldozer.
The listing says the layout accords with the PP, but 'construction' doesn't. Method? Facade?

The listing is probably wrong, never trust an estate agent to know anything about planning permission and planning law.

bit of a WTF? place this one

looks like it may have been built illegally "the current building has not been constructed according to the approved plans" although that wouldn't be a bad thing if it has to be knocked down hehe
We've had that before - not a complaint, it was a while ago and it's nice to see old friends.
Of all the rotters on this thread, I'd genuinely be embarrassed to live there.

I think it's brilliant, in a "so bad it's almost good way". And 10 of the bedrooms need knocking into 5. Though it should be at the end of a private drive at least half a mile long.
But I would still be embarassed to live there. getmecoat

I think that's brilliantly done. Absolutely not what I would do in any way, shape or form, but of its kind a top drawer effort.

A delightful offering with an indoor bathroom with a view of the sky.

It learned me a thing though:

The word Dongola comes from the Nubian word "Doñqal" which means red brick, as most buildings were made of bricks, thus provoking one of ancient Nubia's biggest industries.

It's a bit of a game of two halves... One half is quite nice, the other completely hideous

And what are the giant floor-to-ceiling sequinned legs for?

Well found. I'd wondered about the name when I saw it was next to Khartoum Road. Makes sense.

Love stuff like that.

And I'd buy that house if I had the cash sitting around. Up and coming area, bargain.

If you have to ask, you'll never understand.

Well, that's my assumption.

For? It's not enough to have giant, golden floor-to-ceiling legs, you want them to have a function too? biggrin

Nothing really wrong with the actual house or the interior, but damn if it isn't an unfortunate combo of bus stop and 'tree in my driveway'

I love how they've carried on the orange colour of the car into the interior decor touches.

Not sure this is a total nightmare as such, there's quite a lot to like with the overall place/location.

https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/156467825#/...

It does look a bit like someone stripped a local monastery for fittings, then you get to the bathrooms!
And the kitchen was a "I want something different from the rest of the house".

The owner explains all that in her Planning Applications - head over to the pawn thread where it's been posted 3x already!

You could entertain the kids/grandkids by using the 'slide' at bath time.
