Its not, and now the property it faces is to become a club/"entertainment venue" even less so.

Shame, the amount of work that has gone into the renovation is admirable. Someone had a dream (originally) and others are still trying to pay for it.

I drive past every day and the outdoor illuminations match the inside!

Decor and lighting can be changed. I quite like it as a building otherwise, but I wouldn't pay that much to live in the middle of Torquay. It would have to be a lot cheaper, or preferably somewhere else altogether.

It was up for 3.7M a couple of years ago...

Bit ambitious given it was <100K to buy originally.

I recall folk going mental about the ambient lighting when it was first posted.

This thread can be so predictable at times hehe

I actually quite like it. Not keen on the location itself, although I say that whilst having no clue about the town.

Not sure if its pawn or nightmare, but its back on the market (again)... 2M this time and still got the bloody awful lighting, albeit they had the brains not to make a big deal of it in the pictures!

Total nightmare and as a home, just not homely. As bad as the Business Park aesthetic.
I can only imagine the heating bills, let alone building maintenance.

Also.. could just be me as I had a religious upbringing.. but I would find it odd living in a church.

Another great view, love the garaging, but the property is very close to the cliff edge.

Love bits of the interior, the garaging, and the views, but the main property's aesthetic doesn't get me going.

What the fk is this room supposed to be used for?

Displaying the body parts in glass cabinets collected from your victims.
Not a million miles away (Kidding)

The owner is the Co-founder of Oakley. These look like display cabinets for glasses (Eyes included or not included?!)

Now I'm confused! Looking at the photos the concrete looks like pre-formed (all those holes) rather than poured-in-place.

Indeed, and why on earth would you want to live in a grim, sterile concrete bunker?

Wrong thread

I’m not a fan of the design, but I understand the bathrooms. This is America, where a toilet is likely counted as a “bathroom” (maybe that’s a half-bathroom? Not sure of the terminology!) A house of that size is going to need a good few loos dotted around to save you walking half a mile when you need a crap. biggrin

If that's the aesthetic you're into, why wouldn't you?

It's not my thing in the slightest, but I love that someone has spent a stload of money on exactly what they want, and not giving a fk what other people think.

Kudos to them.

In image 5 look at the roundel on the drive by the house. There are some odd gaps. Now that could be anything, drive base etc or it could be ....

Been a while since I contributed something:

Watch the video for the view from the terrace. I'd buy it for that.

The decor needs a lot of improvement, but that would come with time.
Nice, but fk me that garage looks aftermarket! Needs some work to make it blend in nicely!

Fantastic garaging. Probably wins the best view from the garage ever
Maybe just the staging, but feels a bit soulless inside

Its the guy that created Oakley sunglasses isnt it. So we know he's a fan of industrial looks.

Far better to have some funky and polarising than something dull!

Ah, a very good point. I forgot American's call a toilet a bathroom, that would make more sense. Although why they then listed every throne in the house is another question, we don't do that in listings over here.
