It may be very expensive but it doesn't nothing for me.

So you have Grade 1, Grade 2, and a scheduled ancient monument to manage, and the hoi polloi appears to live very close to you too. And 23.5 million. And an interior that's just a gnat's nadger too shiny post renovation. Hmmm.

Triple garage is a good start or though the photos make the doors look a little narrow?

I think it is just the angle, the terrace of just over 7m x 7m.

Well it's certainly palatial but £23 million and a shared driveway plus normal people across the way...it's a no from my billionaire alter ego.

It’s really annoying when the hardest to reach downlighter in the house packs up, just as the snapper from the estate agent arrives… pic 10.

Almost 3m per bay is fine, surely?

The floorplan measurements are obviously bks. The terrace should measure larger than the garage below, yet it's shown as smaller. Also the terrace is north facing, so it isn't going to get a whole load of sun.

The place is currently rented out as a holiday let, apparently sleeping groups of up to 22. It gets good reviews on google.

So the last few examples have between 9 and 14 bedrooms.

They're all lovely, but A) I can't visualise myself living in them and B) wtf am I going to do with all those bedrooms and bathrooms?! hehe

Still, awesome places, mind.
I'm the same, even with a lottery win I can't see me living in houses that big
I spoke to the local agent about the 10mil house as my daughter rides with her daughter, I said that I love the house but don’t see it as £10m, she said that often the owners need time to have a price reality realisation. She also said that less people want massive houses now, many have smaller families, busier lives and spend more time away from home, that house also needs a full time gardener according to her so that also may put people off. She thinks the market has shifted.

Well the trees are closer to the house if that's what you mean, but I think I'd want my £9 million home more than a couple hundred yards away from the A3, far easier to landscape the former than remove the latter issue...

This is still my favourite mega bucks house, although the horses would be going in favour of a car collection in the riding school.

A3 proximity notwithstanding, I'll have Roger's gaff please. Seems to be a very substantial dobbin premium on your preferred one (I mean, who needs a rotary horse dryer anyway? wink )
It's clearly a professional equine set up I don't think I'd be popular with the local Rupert and Lucinda set as I'd turn it into a golf and car storage facility, in reality I'd echo the recent statements around having a smaller dream home I just wouldn't get on living in such vast places.

That is always a big problem when looking for nice property with land, always having to consider if you are taking away a much needed local livery business or how close the neighbours are and therefore how early a Chieftain tank can be started without causing offence.
