My Ginger Tom always comes for a sniff of whatever food I'm eating or cooking and then after letting him have a sniff, he walks off, clearly un-impressed at it not being Whiskas.

Then yesterday the normal happened and I was making bacon sandwiches, he took a small sniff and the. Took a big chunk of bacon and wolfed it down, very strange.

So, is there any particular raw food that is god for cats ?

Dave!

Our two boys would take your leg off for a bit of chicken, ham, bacon, mince, Sausage, beef, salmon, prawns, pate, toast, egg... I could go on.

Our two girls couldn't care less and won't eat anything unless it's in their bowl on the floor. Apparently we can keep the roast beef scraps, they'll stick to the pouch stuff thankyouverymuch

Cats. Go figure.

Are you thinking about switching to raw full time or just as a treat?

Chicken wings (boned), chicken thighs (not boned) are just a couple of things that can be given to cats raw, but if you commit to it full time you need to make sure they don't become deficient in things like taurine or calcium (if they won't eat bones).

Raw food is good for cats, far, far, far far better than processed cat food IMHO....... I feed raw minced chicken, raw beef, raw chicken wings and tripe. She will also get the bacon fat which I cut off before cooking any bacon. And then some organic cat food at about 50% of her meal.

Cats are designed by nature to eat raw mice and raw birds so the fact its raw isn't important IMHO.

Mine can't catch a cold but seems happiest with supermarket own-brand slop, currently Asda Tiger. But her favourite treats are ham and little bits of raw steak.
