My dog is scared of cats

12 weeks old so nervousness is expected..

Spotted a cat out last night, so I thought it would be good for her to see a cat, didn't realise our dog would be so nervous I would need to pick her up in order to bring her closer to see a cat close up! She was positively shaking in my arms at first.

The cat was the perfect sort of cat for this situation, meowing and rubbing against my legs the whole time, then calmly walking off once she got bored. So another tick for the "things experienced" box, and hopefully less likely to chase a cat she sees in future.. but I didn't expect her to be terrified of it!

Anyone else's dog frightened of cats?

Mine is the exact opposite. She has never had any bad experience with cats but when she sees one it is the only time she is really growling, snarling pulling on the lead.
