It's Caturday- Post some cats (vol 3)
Discussion
Sad day today we had to put down my mothers cat Molly, the family cat for the last 15 years or so,
Not sure how old she was before we had her but shes been the most wonderful member of the family since we got her from rescue.
Had not been very well lately, not eating, urinating on the floor, vet advised it was some kidney issues with more scans and more tablets which may or may not work.
Either way the expense would of been too much and only delaying the inevitable i think,
RIP Molly xx

We had a black one like her twenty years ago. He was a little sweetie.
RIP little one
I once made the mistake of rubbing the belly of a friend's cat. In hindsight I should have recognised all that rolling about for the bear trap that it was.
After I stopped screaming and retrieved the pitiful shredded remains of my hand, I had to apply enough plasters to pay for Dr Elastoplast's new yacht.
I swear the cat was smirking at me afterwards...

Nice! I’d lose about a pint of blood if I attempted that with her above. The last thing they expect is someone to actually take them up on the offer. However, I have come across the occasional cat that gets it all wrong and actually likes a belly rub. Wear a welding gauntlet first to check!
Sad news unfortunately. 3 weeks ago I had a call from the vet that I was really not expecting. We'd put Echo in for some tests expecting a flair up of a Pancreatitis issue she'd had a year ago. Vet told me it was either FIP or Lymphoma, but in any event either either was fatal. We were able to rule out FIP but I was unwilling to subject her to further invasive tests to confirm Lymphoma as the end result was going to be the same
Anyway the speed of the disease has utterly shocked me, the weight fell away from her, significant muscle wastage even though she was eating 4/5 times per day, especially in the last week.
We had scheduled a hospice appointment with a visit-at-home vet for last night but from Tuesday I knew it was likely to be changed to a Euthanasia appointment and unfortunately she confirmed she thought that would be the best thing to do.
Thankfully my better half had a week off last week and I worked from home yesterday and she was having a good day - lots of strokes and head bumps and treats and a good coat brushing which she clearly enjoyed. But in the end she had to go
I'm gutted, she was only 4 and the pace of the illness has really blown me away. Trying to keep her sister distracted as much as we can now and will keep a watch out for her pining.
Here's a last pic of her looking a little goofy with food on her lips
RIP little Echo, it was a short life but a good one.
