Two years ago today these two nutters came into our life.

And them on the day they arrived

So cute.

Every time someone posts kitten pictures I want another cat… but while I reckon my boy would be fine I relatively short order, my girl would probably flip out and stop coming home.

Peter update! 6 weeks have flown by. A trip down to see the fantastic team at Kentdale Referrals, so he could be checked over to ensure the healing process had gone well.

Here he is outside for the first time in... 4 weeks as he escaped twice - but we won't say too much about that.

Also his brother, Paul, greeting him after all this time apart.

Best £6,500 ever spent.

That's a great pic an sums up the mischief that cats get up to brilliantly.

Scrapyard cats. Mother was killed. The two I have survived somehow to 5 weeks before they were found.

I figure they’re indestructible. The vets bills I have suggest otherwise.

She’s got dementia. He’s got cancer, hence the ear work. We don’t know if it’s spread. There’s little point in knowing, there’s nothing to be done.

They spend the day in the sun and the nights on the beanbag. Seems like a plan.
Well my second paragraph was incorrect.

Found the old boy under a bush this morning. Have just dug a hole.

May there be endless late afternoon sunshine followed by bits of bbq’d fish scavenged from humans.

So, so sad Mr E.

The only comfort I can offer is that he's had a great life but could have had a terrible one if you hadn't cared for him, passing away in old age laying on the grass on a warm summers day.

RIP old boy.

Appreciate the thoughts - he lived long and well. Much harder if they’re not at a natural end.

Cats knowing when their time has come and taking themselves to die at a favourite spot, is very dignified.

Many years ago, our 18.5 year old female lay down in the lane outside my house, refusing to move for cars. A kind driver brought her to the front door.

Next day she went outside as usual but never returned. We could not find her corpse. She had become very frail and knew the end had arrived.

Cats are remarkable creatures.
