Holley’s just fine, but she is an extremely strong dog, the strongest of all the labs I’ve had over the last 40 years.

Sandy and Belle, both at the Rainbow Bridge

Here's Max. He loves large sticks. He's almost 3 years old.

Beautiful.
Thanks, Your lovely photos made me share mine.

Because I travel a lot (well use to when Max was a puppy) Max lives with my mum who's 81 ! They are inseparable. I've offered to take Max back incase he's too much for her, Mum said "he gives me a reason to get up every day"

I wonder if the Lab breed is getting stronger in general? Our Max is very strong, that said he's the first pure breed lab i've ever owned. A recent vets visit said Max was over weight. His parents were massive strong dogs and his brother (we keep in touch with the owners) is just as big and stocky...

Well, the simple answer is we don’t fully know. What we are sure of is that his dominant breed is Shiba Inu. We had thought at first he was crossed with a Lab, but think now it is probably some kind of terrier, rather than a Lab.

He displays a lot of Shiba behavioural traits. He is rather like a cat in many ways, not particularly physically affectionate, although he loves to be around us, but he is quite happy with his own space. He house trained himself and arrived as a puppy being able to handle stairs with no issues at all, which just seemed bizarre.

He is so fascinating to look at that both me and Mrs Guitar just stare at him a lot of the time!

I'd seen the Shiba dogs before but didn't know what they were, he's got the colouring and ears, but his dark snout is different and his size and shape are larger than the one's I've just looked at, it's funny as when I see that mournful face of his I think he just needs a big cuddle and yet you say he's not the cuddling type!!! smile

Such an adorable little face! With what were you bribing his attention when you took the photo?

He's obviously pretty obedient though - Sammy would have had the reindeer outfit off his head and in several pieces within half a heartbeat. Trying to take the wreckage from his jaws would have been hazardous to fingers on past form though!

Any decisions yet as to when Rocco will be getting a little playmate?

This is Norman, our 10 week old Mini Labradoodle, he's been with us a week now.

Settling in well, no accidents inside at all, eating well and responding well to training. He's a bright little pup.

This was my wife's doing, just to be clear! hehe

There was bribes involved to stop him trying to pull it off and chew it up, but he is totally food oriented so makes it easier, he tried in vein to remove it to begin with, but as soon as his treats got involved he didn't seem to care anymore and sat long enough for some pictures before getting some rewards for the abuse, just his normal horse meat based kibble he seems to love!

No decisions yet on his playmate, we would both love to get one but limited time at the moment and also we would like to move house to get a decent garden for them first, so he may need to wait a year or so unfortunately... but you never know what may happen before then so not ruling it out happening sooner just yet! wink

Did this one big, I don’t get it my jean is so beautiful and everybody when we are walking ignore her and makes a fuss of Logan. Two people did it on this walk and she’s so loving.
