He’s getting stronger as the time goes on, and loves his home cooked food.
Even started to pee outside on the grass, with some help. Has weekly check ups too, on a oral paracetamol suspension at present.
Sending lots of love and hugs.

What’s his name? I don’t think I have seen it mentioned. Glad he’s got a loving family taking care of him x
Sadly there's little redress on the owners . I had similar ten years ago with my large Cairn. Second case involving the attacker. First was a timid Westie , which got badly injured. Fortunately my lad managed to make the Staffie think again. Police response was next to nothing. I then adopted the response that I'd intervene and make sure that the other dog /owner got prosecuted.
Great update, we’d almost given up all hope on our dog the Christmas before last, as he’d had major surgery that didn’t go right and prognosis wasn’t good, like you we stuck with him, took small steps, lots of angst and worry, however he pulled through and is in better health now than ever.
I’d make sure all vets bills being given to the owner of the other dog, if it’s not insured then when the time is right, if they don’t pay do a small claims submission. There needs to be owner accountability for such dogs as attacked yours.

Our Dandie Dinmont turned 12 today and the look of your dogs face isn’t dissimilar to our dog but this thread has made me a little more wary as she will approach other dogs with her tail wagging but you never know the reaction of the other dog .
Keep us posted and wishing the best

Gucci. Mrs got him many years ago, as a young puppy. Past owners asked not to change his name.
LOL, just to get that in there so everyone knows!Glad he seems to be making good progress albeit slowly, I really don't know how I'd be if any of my 3 dogs were in a similar situation, I know I woud be devestated though.
I hope when recovered he isn't too emotionally or mentally affected.
