Greece and Coratia seem nice options

Also, I would expect (hope?) a lot of the rules to change between now and June. Things changed a lot in many places just in the last couple of weeks because of omicron fading away and with political pressures a lot of the rules are being wiped away as the peasants start to revolt (and look at Canada and begin to think about it)

That's not much use when you want to book it now and have to gamble that the rules at your destination of choice will change (that's the position I am currently in - come on spain you beg jessies, sort it out)

England, add the theoretical flight cost onto your stay and I'd imagine you could stay just about where to like.

Just wait until a week or two before and see what's available, the rules are changing all the time, mainly for economic reasons.

There's money to be made from relaxing restrictions, just look at Spain last week ensuring they didn't scare families off before half term.

The restrictions on getting back into England also need to be considered.
Personally in your situation I’d sit tight for now.

Agreed, they seem to be loosing out to Portugal, and according to some sources, the Spanish tourist industry is not happy about it. At the end of the day, the more hassle it is to travel somewhere, the less likely it is to attract tourists.
From what I could learn about Spain their rules on tpurism are purely politically driven.

Government-"all Spanish people have to get vaccinated"
Spanish people - "whats the point of that when tourists can wander in without being vaccinated"
Government- "OK, tourists, you have to be vaccinated too"
EU- "yeah, that's not going to work when there are no borders"
Government "oh....Ok then.,, just British people, we don't like them anyway those brexit baddies"

So in reality achieving nothing other than supporting the coercion of the Spanish but massively punishing their tourism industry who will no doubt be leaning on the Spanish government hard. Add to that the push back from unvaccinated and freedom loving Spanish population, things might change soon.

As covid stats keep declining the already paper thin rationale erodes to next to nothing, which might open things up. i hope so anyway

As has been said don't stress about it. There is a lot that will change between now & the summer.

It will hopefully become more rather than less open

The CN Traveller list is far from complete, it is just showing a few places. Many countries do not require vaccination for entry (I have travelled to 30 odd places since the vaccines became a thing). They just have varying requirements, usually revolving around PCR rests.

Mexico is great and unique (still, I believe), in that there are no requirements for vaccines OR testing in order to enter. You can just travel there "as normal". You will of course need the test to fly back to the UK, which is easy to get in Mexico City or Cancun (where the flights from the UK leave from), and not too pricey.

A good source of (usually) accurate information is the Foreign Office Travel Advice. For example, Mexico: https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/mexico/en...

Portugal is probably the closest and one of the more easily accessible (flight availability, cost, etc...).

Otherwise, yeah, Croatia, Greece, Mexico, the US, Maldives, Seychelles, Dubai (careful with some of the other Emirates), Cape Verde, Madagascar (with some minor requirements), Namibia, possibly some other African countries, Bulgaria, The Bahamas, Dominican Republic, no doubt some other destinations too.

Definitely seems like lots of restrictions are being lifted. Lots of places want the tourism and will 'compete' if needed (e.g. Spain matching Portugal to avoid losing the business).

Hopefully all this pre-return testing will be scrapped next week along with all the remaining rules?

Well if they are ending 'all' Covid measures, then I'm assuming that includes needing any form of Covid test when returning to England?

Will be great if that's the case. Haven't seen anything on it. I think the requirement (for those that are not fully vaccinated) to test before travel and take a day 2 will continue for a while (is there any strong incentive/rationale or community advocating for change?).

Costa Rica is potentially an option too after they recently relaxed their entry restrictions. Looks like some venues can operate with higher capacity if they only accept vaccinated individuals.

Not sure whether that's everywhere and it's pretty normal (probably not a fun trip if you're not allowed in to bars, restaurants, etc...). Might be that capacity isn't an issue so nowhere checks and you'll be fine.
