Skiing 24-25 Season who/where/when?

And notwithstanding N Americans heading to Europe to ski, skiing, staying and eating in mainstream European resorts is expensive (N Ams are not heading to Bulgaria to ski, I imagine).
I do a lot of trips with a solo skier company and for the last 5 or so years finding an American in the chalet the same week has gone from an unknown to a 50% chance and "So how are you finding things compare here to the US?" usually comes up at dinner in the second half of the week. Answers on costs, all in including flights/lift passes/food and drink/kit hire can be summerised as between "It's going to cost the same as a week in the US" and "It's going to work out cheaper than a week in the US". Food wise the general view is they pay about the same amount but get much more. For the cost of a sad looking burger/fries/drink that leaves them wondering where the change is in the US they'll be getting something fresh, tasty, and Insa-worthy, with a drink, and a coffee in Europe that feels like good value "for being at the top of a mountain".Obviously these are people who aren't 'local' so only get 1 week skiing each year so don't benefit from season pass savings, etc and are looking at flights to get to the snow at home so not saving as much on travel either.

A Portes du Soleil season pass is €685 (£580) if you buy in April. Plus you get 10% off if you bought one the previous year.
That includes 5 days in the 4 Vallées.
Yes, it's very good value if you can get there regularly, 2 weeks is enough to break even. That includes 5 days in the 4 Vallées.
What concerns me if Operators in the Alps decide to follow suit (or operating costs trying to manage dwindling snow cover and building new lifts to extend or enhance ski areas) pushes lift pass prices up, on the basis that "US Market can handle it". (Well obviously it can't if it's driving people to fly across the Atlantic to go skiing).
However I hope that the way resort ski operation are owned and managed will prevent this.

Last minute plans to join pals at their Chalet in Montriond and ski Morzine area on Monday.
I've not been for 9 years. Anyone care to comment on the state of the slopes at the mo, and trends for snow?

As we all know, when @avoriaz1800_officiel announce a PIDA (avalanche prevention trigger), it means they’re expecting BIG things across the ski area overnight. Please dont head into the ski area tomorrow morning until you’re 100% sure it’s safe. Ski lifts may open slightly later, but your wait will be worth it. "

Appreciation
If staying in Montriond, i'd be catching the free bus up to the Ardent lift (past the lovely lake) and skiing in the Avoriaz and Chatel/Plaine Drance sectors which is one of my favourite bits too. Lots of snow now, you've timed it just right!
Its a chap here in the Village with a 10bed place in Montriond suggesting we all head out (hes only just back, but on Monday we go) - looking at the WA chat group, he is militarily planning our excursions and events, and falls in with your suggestions.
I'll tow along (maybe literally as the only 'boarder'), until I dont want to......
It has been 9 years since last doing this, so to be honest as much looking forward to return the awe of the 'experience' - mountains, blue skies, a beer a lunch etc etc as the actual ski/boarding too.
Question remains - can I snowboard as a man in my fifties

I really didn’t think it would be running this weekend, but looks like cairngorm has caught some snow this week and I’m off for a ‘2 day intro to backcountry/ ski touring’ this weekend.
I managed a 1 day course towards the end of january and really enjoyed it. so looking forward to a full weekend of it.

Sounds fantastic, good luck chasing the skiers around (don't feel bad if you want to peel off and hit some different slopes instead of just mile munching on skis)Its a chap here in the Village with a 10bed place in Montriond suggesting we all head out (hes only just back, but on Monday we go) - looking at the WA chat group, he is militarily planning our excursions and events, and falls in with your suggestions.

We snowboard lots in the Lindarets bowl and the offpiste heading over to Super Chatel and Linga is amazing. Just lift the rope and head off.
had an awesome day out at cairngorm today. damn it’s hard to ‘earn your turns’, but some days, scotland just delivers!
not sure how the legs/ feet are going to hold up tomorrow. couple of blisters that will need covered with compeed patches (rental boots) no idea how much vertical we covered, but skinned from the car park to the top (think that’s 500m ish?!) and then a couple of decent runs off off the top ish down into ‘concorde gully’, so maybe managed 1000m vertical, which i think was not bad for a beginners group. bring on tomorrow!
