Passport stamp at Calais

Is it possible as a UKC to get your passport stamped at both Dover and Calais?

I've tried once in the past but they said no because "it would interfere with your residency status" - i failed to respond because I couldn't believe his stupidity.

But when I've emigrated, I need to count days in the UK, and as I'll be traveling to Europe, I really need a stamp when I come and go.

Yiu just keep the flight/eurotunnel tickets/receipts as evidence of entering/leaving the UK. You don't need a passport stamp. In fact if you were to leave the UK from an airport, there is no immigration control on the way out, so you'd only have 'proof' of entry if only using passport stamps.

Hmmm, I need to look for a pouch or something that the passport can live in to collect this crap then. If it gets separated it'll get lost.

all of this stuff is booked online now (and has been for years), so no need to store it physically since boarding passes for air & sea come as reply attached emails. Simply move them to a dedicated folder when they arrive and they're filed without any printing.

also A good idea is to buy something on the ferry / plane with your bank card ,as its proof that you are out of the country

I'm not suggesting you are trying to fiddle the books, but what if people come in via Republic of Ireland then transit across into GB? Surely there is no record of that, and assuming you aren't using your cash cards etc you could get "extra" days with no penalty?

Always wondered if thats a loophole.

This sounds weird : you can properly organise for others all these streetsafaris but cannot keep a few pieces of paper that might save you personally a few quid tax or whatever your objective for emigration is.......

In short, StreetSafari and my personal life are two very different things. Whereas StreetSafari events are structured and orderly, my personal side can be a bit of a mess.

I am obsessive about a StreetSafari event running absolutely perfectly, whether it's a smooth check in in Calais (or where-ever), I have back ups in place, and I am obsessive about my time schedules (eg I need to be at x at 7pm).

But, packing my clothes for an event takes 30 seconds. At most. Hence, I need a system for these particular bits of paper in the near future. I could rebuild my travels from my receipts, but I like important things to be at hand if needed.
