Per title - not much heard since auction. Where are the cars?

I bid on the Orange car that was not registered during the Marcos auction. I believe this was the Australian demo car. I have not heard much good news about these cars in terms of reliability and repairs so I bailed out at 28K. I believe the same guy purchased this car and the blue TS500. The Orange one was up for auction again at the festival of speed recently. It did not make the 35k reserve. I called about the car after the event and was told I could have it for 35K + fees. This was much more than I was prepared to pay a few months ago and nothing seems to have changed with the car. Although I have a real passion for these cars I just feel that this kind of money for an unfinished car that parts are hard if not impossible to obtain is over the top. You can buy quite a lot of 3 year old car for 40K. I don't have anything on TS250 or the grey TSO.

Hi,

If you have that sort of money at your disposal (wish I had!) and wanted an ultimate Marcos, how about contacting Eurotech and getting one of their track chassis/bodies and converting to a road version.

Just to let you all know I have decided to buy V8OOMPH. Hexham Horsless Carriages are taking my TS500. I can't fault the TS500 but I just fancy trying a TSO. I have been led to believe it will be sold at a realistic price if any of you are interested. Since my last post I have also been in touch with the guy who has the orange TSO prototype. If anyone is interested in that email me some contact details and I will pass them on.

Thanks James for the heads up on your car.

As far as I know the purple TS500 is the only one of two. I believe this was a production car purchased by Joust. I believe there are some posts and pictures on pistonheads from when he purchased it. He had it for a while then I was told it was purchased by someone who worked for Microsoft. When I purchased mine, the silver prototype, via the TVR Centre in Barnet it was apparently there for a while and it was reported to be incomplete. It then came up for auction in the sale of the Marcos assets before finally appearing on the Redline site. I know it's not much but that's all I have.

If so, where did the blue TS500 come from that was auctioned off last year with the TS250 prototype and the two TSOs for the wind up of the assets of Marcos Engineering.

As far as I know there is only a blue and a silver one. I assumed that when you said purple that this was actually the blue one at Redline. If it is not where have you seen a purple one?

So it would appear that the 04 plate Blue TS500 (Black Leather upholstery Pale blue seat inserts) that appeared at the auction of Marcos Engineering assets and is now at Redline is Joust's old car. That would make sense.

PS I only raised the question of the origins of the blue car beacuse Crazy Dutchman mentioned a Purple TS500.

I have the blue (irredescent purple). For reference the blue inserts are suede which given the nature of Marcos's is not the brightest of ideas. I noted the comment on a TS500 as being incomplete but are any Marcos of the range built with windows that work effortlessly, wiring that is reliable and well installed, or even hoods that fit well. Having said that it is a marvellous beast.

The silver one was nicknamed the crab because if you followed it down the road you could see the body didn't seem to be on straight. I followed it once and it was really quite strange from behind.

The Blue LJ04 FEG is indeed my old car.

If anyone is thinking of buying it feel free to email me through here if you wish to know anything about why I no longer have it.
