Go to your local factory units, find a man who makes them,he will recommend an installer and you will save big time.
How do you find these? I need two baywindows and a rear doing.
Quite simply the local yellow pages.

I measured ours and fitted them myself. Enjoyed the task even the 'st I hope they fit' moment when they turned up.

Fitting windows isn't rocket science. Getting acess over a conservatory roof is!

Not in the same league, but the 120cm main panel in my bedroom cracked last summer. Immediately though of a bill running into hundreds. Rang the local glass company who sent a bloke out to measure up, then came back a week later with a new casement and fitted it, all for £120.... Bargain really.

We're about to have all our windows replaced and two back doors. Fortunately we've had very little of this nonsense. Three mid-tier companies have all come in around 20% of each other so either they're all in cahoots or we're not about to get ripped off. All had a pretty straighforward quoting process; bloke came round, listened to what we wanted, measured up, provided quote with a couple of options. We decided to get a major to quote just to check whether the pricing was OK but they insisted on both of us being in. I travel a lot and we couldn't do this. The missus is handling it all and will tell me her decision ( smile ) so she told them to not bother coming around.

Interestingly we've had no follow up call from any of them - they've let us decide in our own time.

Edit: 14 windows, UPVC in white. Astral bars £13K, 'in between glass bars' £10K incl VAT & Fitting Does that sound about right ?

I can only tell you what I paid:

7 windows in white uPVC (4 with leading), composite front door and uPVC patio door: £6200 inc VAT and fitting. I think the front door would have been about £1k or so of that price so £10k for double the number of windows sounds about right to me.
