I texted back to say I already had that album, so no need to send it
He replied that it isn't the album, but a book!

The QAnon stuff is actually quite interesting. There's a lot of BS surrounding it now, but at the core of it - thanks to some of the unexplained timings of posts and various things - there is definitely someone who is either close to Trump or has some insider knowledge at the WH. Maybe even Trump himself.

It’s hard to know where to start with the sheer scale of the delusion, but perhaps it’s enough to simply say that many of them opine in comments that donald trump has been sent to sort out the USA and planet earth by ‘god’. He is doing this against the ’deep state’.
To get an idea of the level of lunacy, do a search on youtube for ‘George HW Bush funeral envelopes’. It’s really amazing, the world some folks inhabit. I am envious in a way, it must be exciting to live like that I would imagine.

I find the flat earth conspiracies oddly interesting, a fascinating insight into the human mind. Unlike most other conspiracy theories, you can easily disprove it with your own eyes, but those who believe it have an answer for everything. Photos of the earth? All fake. Astronauts? Simply hanging from wires. Seeing the curvature from a high altitude? That's because aircraft use curved glass. Why are there no pictures of the ice wall? Because NASA has armed patrols all the way around it. Gravity? All a lie. Eclipses? The Moon is just a big rear projected hologram.
We have known the Earth was round since at least the time of the Ancient Greeks, the idea that Columbus set off to prove you wouldn't fall off the edge is a complete myth. But despite Poe's Law being in full effect, there are those who genuinely believe it, and not just from a religious perspective. If nothing else, at least there is a vaguely plausible reason why the moon landings were staged or 9/11 being an inside job. But if the Earth really is flat, what would be gained by hiding it from us? Surely religions would be desperate to get the truth out, as it would be all but concrete proof of a creator.
But when faced with any conspiracy theory, ask yourself this. Whilst it's certainly true government have done and still do plenty of shady stuff, they are also completely incapable of completing major projects of any type on time, or not spend their time with pointless infighting and points scoring. Would you really trust them to be competent enough to keep a massive conspiracy secret?
