Anyone into trainers/sneakers? (Vol. 2)

Is it true that generally the leather quality is a lot lower than the highs?
Quality in general on mids is very hit and miss. I think it depends on the material used.My White/Obsidian/Metallic Gold's quality is really good. As they are full leather
The Black/Starfish/White/Starfish shattered blackboards are awful. As they are part leather part cheap foam stuff.
So basically from now on I will only buy mids if full leather.
Moving on from my Fighter 90's, i decided to do some Jordan Booties but based on bombers, idea thinking that fighter planes = small sleek = trainers, bombers = big = boots, and ive got enough trainers as it is but only a few pair of boots. Plus boots = bigger surface area to play with. Though its abit ironic in the tinker hatfield took design ques from the P-51 fighter
Anyway, i mentioned to a friend that i was struggling to find some new J5's for a decent price, he told me he had a pair of beater j5's in a box and has not worn them for a few years now. So a deal was struck in that i would have artistic license and if he liked them, would pay for material costs and if he didnt, i would buy the boots off him for a discounted rate.
So before i waffle on even more, heres a quick build imagery as i know a few on here are starting to custom
State of the boots
Quick clean up using the suede and leather cleaner, then stuck them in the washing machine @ 20C
With a plan in mind, though the Jumpman logo at the back might be surface stitched and come away easily but unfortunately its made of lots of different strands;
Anyway, lesson learnt for the next one - dont unpick the jumpman unless necessary
My inspiration for the colour scheme was the USAF ww2 heavy bombers
Decided to purchase an airbrush and set up a booth using a box from a monitor;
Took a few attempts to get the paint to thinner ratio correct and on this one, the paint was still too thick really, so had to sand and tidy up bits between each coat
Then i dont appear to have taken anymore build pics but im sure you can guess what happened to get this, originally i didnt plan to paint the tongue and intended to leave it purple and teal. This is due to the painting processes required turns the fabric quite stiff feeling and not OEM soft, i told my friend this but he said he was happy with the results so far and would pay me for them, but wanted the tongue red and jumpman black but he got this instead;
You can buy products that will freshen up the sole so returns it to new, but it costs circa £40
I had always planned to do some sort of ww2 nose art on the boots but struggled to figure out how to do it and wasnt looking forward to drawing it on, then i thought about my childhood spent building model planes and the water transfers we used. After speaking to some model shops, they put me onto a company called Kits-world who specialise in this = result.
Anyway, my friends in the USAF in armament logistics, also being American they seem to be quite prudish to us Brits i couldnt quite go with the whole naked lady scheme, but he has a 'love' of drinking so i found a Johnnie Walker graphic, then hopefully Mickey is self explanatory.
Unfortunately, i used too much water when placing the JW and it slipped when drying.
Also if your wondering when theres a scruffy black patch on the heel, its a nod to what the USAF ground crews used to do to make the graphics pop more/stand-out.
So Mickey and JW are 1/48 scale if people are wondering/plan to do the same (which i doubt), from memory you need an area roughly 60x50mm.
Anyway, i was working on another pair at the same time and had to use 1/72 scale graphics. Luckily, the lady riding the bomb happened to be on the same sheet i wanted for the other ones and heres the result;
Not going to lie but the larger scale is a better fit but never mind, if my friend wants to change them, then he can at a later date.
Learnt a few lessons on doing these but im a amateur at it so its all a learning curve

Then that's all that matters! They look like a good modern replacement for the Rifts some like on here! What are they? How long you had them?

Very cool, these imo are your best yet! What's the product that restores soles? And what will it restore? Would pay for a service like that!

I think the best are yet to come but theres a few issues with them. Ill post them in a few days but thanksWhat's the product that restores soles? And what will it restore? Would pay for a service like that!
So the sole restorer can be found here;
https://www.sneakerscience.co.uk/clean-2-c.asp
Then scroll down till you see the Angelus one but theyve got a few brands available (but maybe not in stock).
Theyve even got some scuff eraser that would probably have sorted out Bing's scuff he posted about ages ago
