The second photo is really scary, why would anyone dress-up like that and then post it in a Facebook advert?If it's worth less than £15 I punt most stuff down to my local charity shops and theyre always super thankful. My nearest one is bolted onto the side of a special needs charity where they take kids and young adults for the day to give their parents/carers a few days respite. Quite a lot of the games and stuff like that makes it's way through the centre which is great.
Recently I've put a few things on Freecycle or freegle in the hope that it might help someone out who's in need and it normally goes quickly. People love free s

What does annoy me is when that then appears on gumtree and Facebook marketplace for £30+ within a few hours. Sometimes even using the same pictures.

If you're planning to do Facebook Marketplace correctly, your first sentence above is your entire advert text. It justs needs a blurry picture looking into an unlit garage, with a couple of items in the gloom that might be wheels. Ambleton said:

The latter used to annoy me but now I don't care as it would have otherwise gone in the bin anyway and not having to deal with endless "is it still for sale? Unfortunately it seems it's pretty much impossible to get rid of furniture items that are heavy/bulky/needs more than 1 person to move/won't fit in a car, even when you offer them for free. FBMP is absolutely awash with what appear to be good quality and expensive-when-new sofas and cabinets/drawer units that sit there for months untaken. People just need them out and gone at the end of rental tenancies, for example. I wouldn't be surprised if some would actually pay YOU to take it, as it would be cheaper than hiring in a house clearance outfit.

You’d make a lot more selling them individually I’d sayBloke at work needed a single alloy for his golf, he purchased a set and sold the other three off
If you have the luxury pop them in the loft and wait, they will sell

We've bought most of our "big" furniture off Facebook marketplace. Dining table and 6 chairs was about £100 and solid hardwood. Weighs a tonne.
Bed frame for the spare room think that was only £25
Sofa set was £200 and less than a year old and cost the owner £1200 the previous year in the sales (RRP was £1800 iirc) but it was too big for her room. Got all the receipts, warranty and everything.
Hand made Welsh dresser from a farmhouse (made by a local carpenter to fit in an alcove in the house). God knows what that would've cost to have made. Picked it up for about £150 I think.
Like you say, you can find some real bargains if you're not too fussed about having everything new, shiny and matching.
