There is absolute mutiny on my local group.
First one is the reopening of a train line to connect the local villages to the city. A few months back everyone was really excited about it and it would be great for the area. Train line has been open just a few weeks and now everyone is absolutely outraged by it because they are all late for work due to having to wait at the level crossings for 10 minutes every morning when they can see the train at the station still loading passengers, so why are the barriers down?????? And "the trains are empty anyway. Complete waste of money, they should shut it down".
Second one has resulted in half of the village completely losing their minds over a new housing estate being built off the end of an existing estate across the road from me. As you would expect at this time of year, the 2 roads through the estate and footpaths adjacent have some mud residue on them, despite having a road sweeper working constantly spraying water on the ground and brushing it all up. Apparently it's "lethal" and "I'm unable to go out as I'm disabled and it's too slippy" ("disabled" for this woman is a result of being 20 stone from eating pies and cakes all day long and not moving her fat arse).
Now they are complaining about the sweeper being "too noisy, can't hear myself think and I work from home so need it to be quiet". ("work from home" = on bennies and don't like being woken up at 8am by the noise when usually I'd be able to sleep until dinner time). Also the tipper trucks are "dangerous" and "shouldn't be coming down roads like this", "my kids are terrified and they are causing potholes and the drivers all stand outside talking loudly with each other and vaping".
They have decided that they are going to sign a petition and then send it to the council to "sort it". I can see the road and paths from here and they are absolutely fine. They seem to be expecting the site to have people out with toothbrushes on the road and pavement cleaning it all. I did briefly consider sticking my head above the parapet to ask them how they manage in October when you can't even see the pavement or road surface for the millions of slippy wet leaves covering them, or enquire how they manage when the pavement is covered in snow and ice, but didn't fancy my chances against approximately 50 angry huns with nothing else to do in their life apart from write crap on FB.

Lots of local anger again. There's a free shuttle bus that runs between two hospitals, it's been running for a good number of years now. Due to horrific mismanaged finances the hospital trust can no longer afford to support it, so they're withdrawing it.
Lots of petitions set up, even planned protests at the hospital gates. Nearly everyone said that they'd be willing to pay a fare for the service if it means they'll keep it.
Now a local bus company has registered the route commercially with no funding so of course will need to charge fares.
Everyone is angry they'll have to pay now, because it used to be free.

Of course they are not ok FFS.
We get a helicopter hovering low over the village rec every few months checking the power lines. Of course FB is full of air ambulance posts and asking why isn't it landing.Of course they are not ok FFS.

Ungrateful C**ts. We've been campaigning for the reopening of our station for years. It'll probably never happen, despite being on a main line, there being multiple options for where they could put it and to which pretty much the whole town could walk (fatties excepted, natch), and the town being at least three times the size now compared to when the station closed, with corresponding traffic problems.

The tying up of dogs outside shops does annoy me tbh. Mind you, I'm old enough to remember when mums would leave their babies in their prams outside the shops
I don't leave my dogs tied up outside shops:
- I do worry about dog theft, I have experienced it, one of my dogs was stolen out of our garden.
- Mine would get funny if approached by another dog, say some well meaning owner thinking it would be nice for theirs to interact with mine.
- Same as above but with a child, one of my Terriers is generally fine but does suffer with anxiety and doesn't like being over fussed and if he felt he was being backed into a corner he could get cross.
I dont generally use FB as it seems full of all those 'ok hun' types of posts (complete drivel from the UKs most stupid). Recently moved house and had some dealings with the local busybody, meaning we had to exchange numbers. I now get text messages 'saw an ambulance outside your house last night, hope everything is OK?'

They still do in the Nordic countries.
And in our village mums will leave sleeping babies in a pram while they grab a coffee from the deli (ok, always in sight)
