Perhaps the image was taken just before part two of The Langoliers aired?

Either they got the intern to spend a lot of time doing it by hand or have a fancy AI "delete all" function. hehe
Nah they just used that Magic Eraser from the Pixel adverts - just point at stuff and it vanishes, apparently.

How much has the number of regular posters decreased on PH since the advent of being unlawfully interned lockdown.?
I would have thought post counts would have gone up during Covid lockdown. Or are you referring to something else. confused
Not the posts, the posters. The people who've left. The people who've stayed have probably posted more over lockdown but I was thinking the other day how many regulars seem to not post any more.

Oh! I see

Well, as an additional question to yours, have you noticed how many times we get one or more regular prolific posters, usually with some quirk / annoying style, who post for several months and become well-known, then disappear and shortly after another person comes along with a different quirk / annoying style, who becomes a regular prolific poster. Rinse and repeat. They've never been on PH for longer than 2 years but have a lot of knowledge of PH history.

They always have some kind of hook or angle that makes them stand out.

Not saying that we have an issue with serial sock puppeteers, but we have an issue with serial sock puppeteers. smile

Yes I have noticed. I see their style of posting and think "you won't be around for long." Remember the poster who subjected everyone to tiresome quips all the time? Jeez.

The average age of Pistonheads members from the start was never on the younger side. As members have aged some have passed away, others no longer post.

That was actually a long-time poster who got bored with PH and, I think, decided to see how much of a tiresome arse he could be before he was banned. biggrin

By spending time on the internet outside of PH, and by looking at Urban Dictionary or google when I discover a word or phrase that I don't know. smile

The 'magic' function that stitches together several group photos so everyone's smiling and has their eyes open, but ignores that the AI has given them all broken necks or giraffe necks. It's jarring whenever they show that.

Sure, I was just wondering whether lockdown played a part.

When a hen lays an egg, does the pointy end or the blunt end come out first?

Funnily enough this was on an old episode of QI that I had saved on my Sky box and which I watched yesterday. They had the panellists try with models and rubber eggs, and basically the shape of the egg is such that it rotates so that it always comes out pointy end down (as already mentioned).

It was indeed 'Quite Interesting'

My speedometer reads 83mph at 2000rpm in my highest gear.

The engine redlines at 6500rpm.

So a theoretical top speed of 270mph.

What factors contribute, in what order, to the failure to achieve this?

C Class estate. 385ish bhp. Let’s assume an indefinite length, flat road, 155mph limiter removed.

Aerodynamics would probably be a huge factor.

And gearing?

Friction and weight as well.

Air gets thicker as you get faster, which increases drag.

Frontal area, CoD, and BHP. in overly simplistic terms. Gearing wont help you reach 270 if the car hasn't the power to overcome pushing through what essentially becomes a liquid environment.
