Using full beam on a dual carriageway or motorway should be grounds for compulsory euthanasia.

Since the 10th month is named after 8 (Oct)
and the 11th month is named after 9 (Nov)
and the 12th month is named after 10 (Dec)
then the 13th month should be named after 11
and the 14th months should be named after 12...

So it should really be on the 3rd of Dodecember.
You can add September for 7 (Septem)

This is all because of the addition of July (for Julius) and August (for Augustus), moving the months 7-10 to 9-12. The original Roman calendar only had 10 months.

July and August were always there, but called Quintilis and Sextilis (fifth and sixth). Their names were changed to July and August. It was January and February which were added, because the Latin calendar originally began with March.

Couldn't they have been good chaps and added the new months onto the end of the year rather than the start, thus not disrupting the order of the months?

But then Christmas would have been in the autumn.

Football reports along the lines of "Aston Villa double their lead".

The implication being that doubling is really good. Well yes, but far any team would prefer to increase its lead by 25%, or better still, just 10%....

Greatest Hits Radio (paid for version) advertising the fact that there are no adverts on the paid for version.
I started to listen to Greatest Hits Radio as I don't like Ken Bruce. Every 5 minutes now they go on about how long it is before Ken joins them. Surely they must realise that they were getting a load of ex Radio 2 listeners who are fed up with Radio 2.

I think the listeners they are getting are fed up with what Radio 2 has become, with Ken possibly the last from a pretty decent era. GHR know exactly what they are doing IMHO.

When I've just bought something on ebay (or Amazon) and I suddenly get loads of speculative links for ... the very same item. Dum heads, look I've just bought it ok? And you know I've left feedback and haven't returned it, so I'm happy with my purchase! Stop trying to make me buy another one!

yes windows is worse than Android will ever be for this. Every time I have an update, Edge be like "would you like to apply recommended settings?" No, fk off. And that bing button is an abomination. I'm seriously thinking of ditching it now, it used to be a good browser, now it's just there to spy on you.

If GHR think they will gain millions of listeners just by landing Ken, that's not the way
radio works, what's Mayo's ratings I wonder ?

No, but there can be a 10% increase in a team's lead, which is the point I am making.

A team winning 1-0 doubles their lead if they score a goal. Commentators often make a big deal out of this, but whilst it is the highest percentage that a team can increase a lead by, it only means a two goal lead.

If a team is winning 4-0 and they score, they only increase their lead by 20%, but by doing so they move into a five goal lead. etc......
