Things that annoy you beyond reason...(Vol. 7)
Discussion
The BA app, it’s f
king embarrassing to be honest, as is their whole IT setup. IME one of the worst, if not the worst in the industry. I wanted to moan at them so put together a helpful response and when I went to submit…

Sums them up. As soon as I have got the tier points I want for this year, to use domestic lounges, I’ll be using alternatives to travel on long haul.

People who slam doors in Hotels.
We once stayed at the Gatwick Marriot hotel ahead of a flight to Greece. Mainly as our daughter was very young and we wanted to avoid an early start.Instead we listened to doors slamming half the night which rather defeated the object of staying there!

Doors that slam. Unfortunatly I was put in a room right next to reception on the ground floor. The door outside my room was the one between the reception desk and the corridor to all the rooms, so everyone had to use it. I realise it may be a fire door and be required to close automatically, but does it need to BANG shut after anyone goes though.
Most of the evening and from 6:30am BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG

They can be adjusted in like 5 seconds. There's 2 screws on them under the hinge. One controls the speed of the door when it's fully open and the other controls the speed of the door after it's completed the 'fully open' section. If you don't need the door to latch on a lock, then turn the top screw fully clockwise and this will give it maxiumum damping and do the final closing bit really slowly./Most of the evening and from 6:30am BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG
Note that the oil in the damper is affected by temperature. In warm temps the oil is thinner, so you'll get less damping and more slamming. Conversely, cold oil is thicker and so if you need it to latch, you'll have to slacken off the damping of the top screw just enough so the door does the final few inches fast enough to activate the lock. They require periodic adjustment to keep on top of this but it's a 5 second job with a flat head screwdriver.

Well done for banging all night, hope she was satisfied? Most of the evening and from 6:30am BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG

LinkedIn.
What a festering pile of bilge.
The way they write their cringey twaddle on a new line for every sentence.
Just like this.
And the sheer cringe that people post on there. Blowing smoke up their own and other peoples arses. Talking absolute s
te.
Like a guy last week, showing a video of him doing pull ups.
He was 59 apparently, and boasted that blokes in their 20s couldn't do any pull ups.
Also claimed he enjoyed their girlfriends eyeing up this sad old b
d who thought he was Arnie, while they were flabby and weak.
Then offered business advice for a large fee. A fee larger than his ego apparently.
But you get what you pay for. That's what he told us.
What a load of f

Why do I subject myself to it?

I've booked a return flight using British Airways. I am absolutely astounded by the glitchy, awkward, website and app they have in place.
There's been countless errors on the website particularly. With 3 days in a row of periods where there is a message saying "Sorry, we're having issues at the moment".
There's also an issue as it connects to the American Airlines website (who operate one of the flights). This also produces errors.
I have completed information on the app, saved it, and then today got an email reminding me to complete it. I log in and see that none of the information is there.

I love the feature where it will refuse to show your boarding pass as you approach the gates or maybe it will this time. Do you feel lucky punk? Well, do you??
'no details found' can be pretty disconcerting as you approach security.
Screenshot everything just in case....

That is one of several reasons I much prefer to travel with a reputable airline like Easyjet rather than third world budget airline like BA.
They're supposed to be a prestigious national carrier, they used to be "the worlds favorite airline" WTF happened?
IIRC they got rid of all their IT and outsourced it to India...They're supposed to be a prestigious national carrier, they used to be "the worlds favorite airline" WTF happened?
Booked travel insurance and got the email straight after.
Email says "to view your policy, create an account below". I have to create an account now, with password in order to download my policy.
FFS, I thought company's would rather get away from this unnecessary user portals, security, passwords, general storage of user data (beyond the initial signup).

On the topic of doors I'm once again here to rant about people who don't say thanks, or at the very least a smile and/or a nod when you hold a door or let them through when passing.
Ignorant.
Winds me up beyond believe! I always make a point of politely saying "you're welcome". Don't care who it is, young, old, manners cost nothing. Some people are clearly embarrassed when they hear you say it, I don't careIgnorant.
Drivers who drive right up to a parked car (or other stationary obstacle) and then have to swing out into the opposite lane to get past it. If they looked further than the end of their bonnet and pulled out in advance they could drive past without bringing the whole road to a grinding halt.

I go to the airlines website, find the flights I want, fill in my deets, pay by card and "bing" email with PNR appears in my inbox.
Even done this with BA.

We live near a bus stop and there are always people stopping too close to the bus, so they can't see past to overtake. Cue lots of beeping from the cars behind and the occasional bit of road rage. It gets quite entertaining at times
