That is pretty silly...I put mine (in the little case) under the seat!
Far more secure, I used to put mine in the glovebox. The one time I forgot it got stolen... (darkest Essex, early 90s)

I remember some people carrying them in pubs and stuff as a flex
Ironically people do the same with their locking wheel nuts keys these days.
I’ll bite, what on earth is that about?
Not sure about the wheel nut thing, but the cover panels reminds me of drooling over car stereos in Halfords, playing with the graphic equaliser.

I eventually got one. Unfortunately I forgot to turn it down approaching temporary digs in Glasgow. The car was stolen and discovered in a dodgy part of town a few weeks later. The police asked my why it had taken such a long time to get there that day when they called - I reminded him it was Sunday and I’d to get 2 buses as someone had stolen my car…

Triffic, lovely.

I've been watching clips of Still Game and smashing is used a lot.

Have we had 'Grange Hill' yet? I was totally addicted to that and some of the great characters and plotlines. I particularly remember Danny Kendall and Mr. Bronson.

When Britbox was on Amazon as a channel we binged Grange Hill from the start with my 12 year old - she couldn't believe schools were like that, specifically teachers casually clouting kids round the head etc.

Arrived here due to a rather strange train of thought; I was musing on how those who refuse to attend their trials could be *ahem* accommodated, when the glass spousal box climbed down from the dusty attic that passes for my memory.

Dark navy nylon bomber jackets with red and white stripe collars and shoulder stripes. Or the same in black with red and yellow stripes. Terrible.

No I think it's the equivalent of standing in front of a group of girls and flexing one's muscles to show off how cool one is. All the gym-going powerfully built directors on here will understand exactly what I mean of course.

To "flex" something, is the same as being a bit of a showoff or bragging about something.

It was my first thought but I changed my mind as I've never seen anyone impressed by a wheel nut. smile

As a kid, the scariest memory of all time. 'Quiet as a Nun' from the 'Armchair Thriller' series. This was shown pre-watershed and traumatised a whole generation.

There was also a different, slightly earlier series called Thriller which creeped me out as a youngster.
