I'm also trying to organise a bit more in my life, put a few more things in, as with the pending loss of living in Wales, I've been feeling quite lost, unsure of the future now it's all changed. Thought I had everything worked out.
So Festival of speed Friday, will be booking another trip to Belgium and planning some other stuff... whilst thinking a little more long term
Sounds like you're doing it the right way Byker, happiness is a verb, they say, rather than a noun - doing stuff is often the answer, if only we could figure out what the question is!So Festival of speed Friday, will be booking another trip to Belgium and planning some other stuff... whilst thinking a little more long term
The summer here oop norf continues unabated, alternating between trenchul and dismal drizzle.
I have been conducting further research into the F20/B47 hybrid :
The burning question is:
Will it fit on my drive?
I'll get my tape measure out when/if it stops raining...
^^^ Tigershark., I've met a couple of those, up close'n'personal like.
When ah were a kid in th mid 70's, one (1) of th neighbours had been a Tigermoth mechanic in round one (1) of th first bout of world nastiness. Kinda wish I'd been old enuf to better appreciate his remembrances.
G'morneve chaps, as you were.

I've attended a few times many years ago when it was always beautiful sunny weather ( before Global Warming set in ) and the competing air forces from around the globe always put on a jolly good crowd-pleasing show, all trying to out-do each other. As well as ear defenders, I suggest you take plenty of water because when/if the sun shines, it can get pretty hot. If that should happen, remember that brollies can also double as parasols.
Have fun.

I think he may have been pulling one of yer legs just a little bit, because the DH Tigermoth didn’t make its' maiden flight until 1931.
Perhaps he had been reading too many Biggles books*, and got carried away romancing his tall tales of derring-do to the young impressionable paua.
* One of my favourites was "Biggles Flies Undone" by Capt. W E Johns...

I have been pondering on towing the Vulcan back from Carlisle behind the TT. There may be a few obstacles to tackle along the way. It will fit in the back field but getting into the field is impossible without dismantling. She looked fab yesterday in the sunshine.
Can we nip up after dark. We can tie a strap around Bobbers BMW and tow it... as for getting into fields, I suggest a ramp over the hedge/fence and we take a long run up. You can honestly say it flew there then...glenrobbo said:

<ChurchillDog> Oooh yes! </ChurchillDog>Many a time I've grabbed a brolly as we've gone to the kids' football tournament on a sunny day and I've been heartily mocked. Within the hour I've handed over the brolly to said mockers!

Thanks! The 404 Home for Indigent and Distressed Gentlebats continues to be busy.
We must be doing something right as four (4) of them so far have matured to the point of getting very enthusiastic about the notion of life with others of their kind.
When they became suave and debonair aviators of skill and confidence they made it clear that they wished to rejoin the squadron active list and have been released to make their fortunes as best they can.
I just hope I've done the right thing and they managed to find roosts and catch their own dinners.
Only one bat has died on me so far. It was just too depleted when I found it and I couldn't get it to pick up and sadly it didn't make it through the night.
We still have a group of four (4) who appear to be doing okay, although one is not growing as much as I'd like. Maybe she'll catch up.
We're expecting the wildlife conservation man sometime this week and I'd like to present him with a group of happy healthy pipistrelles.

I've just realised that via the wrinkles of auto-complete & 'remember my password' on this laptop that for the past day or so I've re-adopted a username and password I thought lost many years ago and have been posting under my former identity 'Flook' and not my (relatively) new identity 'Fullook'.
I feel like the Count of Monte Cristo. Or is it the man in the iron mask. Or something in the spiderverse.
Who am I?

Haha! You think you've got problems. My car informs me I need petrol and is directing me to an all-night filling station eleven (11) kilometres east of Nagahama. There was nothing near Mount Ibuki, we looked. Well, to be honest, we looked if Mount Ibuki is the hill heading north up out of Hungerford.
It's okay, the rule when you're trade plating is, 'when the car says you have run out of fuel and nought remains but desolation and despair, you still have another ten miles.'
Loads left.
