Obit says 'Camila dedicated her life to advocating for Britain’s most vulnerable children'. Why doesn't that 'meet the bar'?

Quite a loss.

The police investigation found no evidence of sexual abuse & the allegations seemed politically motivated at the time IMO. She did help a large number of under privileged kids, although I can appreciate not everyone agreed with her methods. Close friends had dealings with her & they stated she was an amazing woman and incredibly dedicated to the kids in her care.

Because they aren’t a celebrity and therefore not that well known?

Previous threads were for celebrities but there were always posters who thought that it should include “their local bin man who in his spare time dedicated his life to looking after injured blackbirds found within a 1 mile radius of their village” or “Trevor Sprockingham, best none for his design work on the bolts on some obscure 1920’s aircraft that never actually flew”.

Seems they have won and had “celebrity” changed to “noteworthy” - prepare for an influx of obituaries taken from obscure local newspapers and trade magazines with readerships in the single figures.

Most posts will start with “Probably not that well known outside of…”.

A quick look on line shows that the UK newspapers are very much taking sides on how they describe the charity. A shame as far as I'm concerned. It seems they did a lot of good for lots of children.

Bryan Ansell, the guy who started the process that turned Games Workshop from a small hobby shop into the Warhammer juggernaut it is today. Also designed a lot of other stuff for geeks to move around a table.

I too have a close friend who used to work for her, and she echoes that statement. RIP.

I too have a close friend who used to work for her, and she echoes that statement. RIP.

I'd echo this - know two people who worked with her and her dedication couldn't be faulted. She should have hired a proper accountant and maybe some PR but the press were brutal.
