Surrons etc are "banned": illegal to ride on the road or pavements in the same way as an unregistered 2 stroke scrambler would be. Lack of action from authorities are a separate issue.
Also, they're electric motorbikes, not e-bikes.

Same at my kids school, then won't let them go for a pee, genius.
That's what the 'recepticle' is for!

A lot of local MTB trails have been ruined by scrotes on these. Now they've started chewing up fields instead. Bad enough when the snow melts and turns fields boggy, but now a lot of them are basically swamps and the footpaths are just as bad.

Phoned 999 a couple of times over the summer as they were tearing around a public park, weaving in between young kids playing. Police weren't interested.

Frustrating as fk!
It's quite in incredible how much damage they can do in a short period of time isn't it.

I wonder if you noticed one of the surron riders had a knife or similar you may get a more helpful reaction...
Particularly if that lad in the image fell off, would be like Indiana Jones!

I can't see the frame lasting that long before it buckles.

The rider ain't shredded, poor bike.

One of these electric motorbikes was on my local MTB trails last week, rutting the soft ground through the snow melt. Very surprised no clashes with MTB or dog walker's hasn't occurred yet. I don't think the users are the type to stop either!

Disappointed to see that my preferred solution to these electric motorbike scrotes (bean bag shotgun rounds) would prove totally ineffective.

You’d need a bean bag for sitting on to get him off that!

Yup, been told by the police to call 999 next time we see them on our local MTB trails.

Merseyside police 25 years ago told me it wasn't appropriate to phone 999 after I'd seen kids racing a petrol driven bike around our estate. I told them, I'd do it again and again until the problem was solved.
No insurance, stolen bike, no licence, no helmet, and dangerous driving is not the same "Antisocial" behaviour as 2 lads smoking dope on a park bench.

Derby Police 6 years ago phoned me back to thank me and tell me they'd captured 3 lads on a quad bike in a city park and one had gone straight back to prison as he was on parole.

I guess the police have realised that it's worth responding.

Bravo,

Next, could they deal with the Deliveroo/Just Eat/Uber Eats riders whizzing around on electric motorbikes. They seem to have carte blanch to do whatever they like.
All immigrants though, so it’ll be racist. Same goes for every single private hire Prius on the road. None of them can drive. I doubt any would pass a UK driving test.

Kids racing around on unregistered petrol bikes is predominantly a white British council thing, while terrible taxi driving and ebike riding is predominantly an immigrant thing. Both annoying, just in different ways.

Was a clampdown on local highsteet here this week or last

6 iffy e-bikes confiscated, 6 people handed to the immigration people

In my town, round the back of the “immy” hotel, there’s an odd amount of deliveroo push bikes

Kez from this thread, https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&... was subletting a Uber eats or similar login, I’m guessing vulnerable folk are exploited by this

Been over “the other side” of my hometown today to visit people.

Sizzlers really is the perfect amount of council, burger van in a supermarket car park on a big council estate. Betting shop just out of shot along with the massive bingo hall

Despite the size of the massive free car park, when the burger van is open customers have to park their “motors” or “trucks” on the grass, on the mini roundabout - basically anywhere that doesn’t involve walking or courtesy to others

I’ve been in that pub when I was 16 or so and that was enough, it’s dole pole / vape heaven

Bonus points to anyone who can remember when the bingo hall just behind was a Homebase, probably at least 25 years ago

"The other side of town", it's a funny one.

I live in a very affluent area of the UK in the SE, I live on a very large, originally all Council estate from the 60's, houses are now a mix of council, privately owned and privately rented, generally a nice area to live, no problems with kids or youths, all tidy and pretty boring and uneventful.

There is a similar set up in the village next door and spattered about between the 2 of us are the usual roads with detatched houses, all silly money, privately owned or rented, no issues there.

"The other side of town", completely different, it's like another world, again large council estate, 2 of them but mostly council rented, some privately owned but I'd say less than "my side of town", run down areas, boarded up shops, definitely more crime, for an example the recently new electric bike rental scheme locations have been pulled from that area due to vandalism, not from my side though.

My stolen dog was "found" in that area, the house was deep in the estate, it was a grim location.

It's amazing the contrast and only a few miles apart and the same town.

Nice areas don't remain nice forever, but bad areas tend to remain bad. The rot will be creeping it's way over to 'your side' slowly but surely, maybe time for you to move now whilst house prices are high wink

Come to think of it, maybe I need to move too, but where's safe from this rot? biggrin

Council rot, coming to a housing area near you biggrin
