Awful morning here in Guernsey, strong easterly with bands of sleet, slightly better in the afternoon, I sea swim daily and can confirm that it a tad chilly right now, van trip around the south of France next week to escape this drudgery.

Snow up on the Cat pass and more predicted for Tuesday. None down here but quite chilly. East looks potentially white week after next.

Woke up to a sprinkle of snow. Unexpected. (aberdeenshire). Then snowed heavily again for 10mins.

Suns come out to play so looking forward to nice walk into the local village.

Yes, was a bit of a shock. Left home to go to Banchory for a haircut - left in chilly sunshine, arrived in a blizzard and everything turned briefly white. Pretty wet and all melted now though… chilly.

Same as yesterday in the Reading/South East area, although slightly less rain but more fog and mist.

It's grim and horrible. I braved it outside for a 1hr15 min walk/run then immediately had a bath to warm up

Timed it well as rain same down heavier just as I finished.

I have 4 days off this weekend, pretty annoying having such stty weather. I WFH so it's sometimes a bit depressing having time off also when staying at home.

Sorry to be annoying, but the weather has been pretty much perfect up here in the North West corner... so much so, that I popped over to Lewis in the Outer Hebrides and had several days of wall to wall sunshine.

... if you have 152 second to spare... here's a video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TfQFTb7x7dA

That was 152 seconds very well spent. Thank you GC! Wonderful smile The shot at 1:15 was so hypnotic. Brings back happy memories.

The year before last, we spent a summers week on Lewis / Harris and lucked out with blue skies and non stop sun all week. It was the week Stornaway recorded its third highest ever temp at 25.7 degs. The locals were fainting but we were in heaven!

It’s an incredible place - for landscape and wildlife.

I’m pretty sure you had a fab few days last week!

Yeah, Surrey here, and this really is starting to feel like one of the longest runs of dark, grey misery in recent memory. It really is impossible to think at the moment that at some point in the coming weeks/months it 'might' be warm and sunny and we'll be out in gardens and parks having a nice time!

Driving tomorrow. Berks to Leicester to Wigan to Leicester and back to Berks. Was planning on doing a scenic cross-country route on the way up via Winnats Pass, having a wee lunch break thereabouts in that Peak District.

Will I get snowed on and stuck like a lemon?
The forecasts vary at the moment, but they seem to agree that the Peaks will get a good few CM of snow... and last time that happened the police had to close Winnats Pass as the hard of thinking decided it was acceptable to 'park' their cars wherever they thought it was OK to do so.

I'd avoid Winnats pass for that reason as it'll be clogged up with the Mam Tor 'waddle few yards from the car, drop some litter and leave' brigade.
I went for it in the end, there was a bit of sleet blowing about but the biggest disappointment was, of course, the low cloud all around, which meant I didn't get the nice views from the roads to and from the pass, which was the whole point of diverting that way. Oh well, had a nice lunch at the Grasshopper in Hope. There was some big cross country tough guy running race thing on, so quite a few people in and around the pass, but nobody parked stupidly and blocking any roads I'm pleased to report.

Shall have to go that way again another time, but as a southern resident who often drives to Scotland, it's a bit out of the way from my usual routes.

He are some GetCarter grade photos (not) taken from inside a Skoda Potato.

Im up in the NE of England. According to that chart, Jan was way more sunnier than usual. I can only think that it was due to the clear 4 days while I was at work last week! It's as grey cold and wet as you can imagine today. Nasty easterly blowing in too.

Greetings from Madrid. Not sure what they call 13 degrees and sunny spells here, but I'll take it

Same here in N. Yaarkshaa. Cold, wet, miserable, with a bitter easterly wind that looks set to be with us all week. We're hibernating!
