I don't know what we'd do if the Nanny-Nazi BBC forgot to tell us that only journeys that are really necessary should be attempted otherwise we'd all be out attempting outrageously unnecessary journeys.

overnight snow last night here in north ayrshire but it was really wet and slushy. Temperature has been rising all day so it will be gone soon.

headed out this morning to go to the shop. Encountered a car upside down in a ditch, it's position nicely showing the summer tyres fitted. Upon arriving at the shop the majority had decided that because its snowing then you can just dump your car anywhere.

In an attempt to avoid any more idiot members of the public I took the backroads on the way home. Travelling along a deserted road at 30mph I get flagged down by a guy in a pickup. I stop to enquire whats up and he says "you must slow down, it's dangerous conditions",, bizarre silly

Did Crewe to Dundee and back overnight in the lorry. Getting there, no problem, Dundee to Glasgow, no problem, managed to hit the M74 just as the snow started south of Glasgow about 6.30am. Wow, that was fun! Got lucky and we managed to crawl along in awful conditions and get through to Gretna about 15 mins before the M74 was shut due to an accident and Jack knifed lorry. Then crawled over Shap and it was clear of snow the other side, but wet and windy all the way back from there.

This was pic on Facebook from about 15 mins behind us

My colleagues had a busy morning with the snow between Penrith and Shap, all gone now and nice and clear.

14 degrees here today (south Lincs) it's actually warmer outside than inside after the last few days of sub zero

The met office is lying to us. We’re still at -3, and the deep snow remains. I hear a slight trickle of melt in the drainpipes.

Sun tomorrow though.

Apparently.

It's 14 degrees and dry in Carlisle at the moment where I'm parked in the patrol car.

Or August, as they call it in Carlisle.

I was in Fordbridge (Chelmsley Wood) and then Knowle earlier today. Was more likely to be blown off the road than anything. Got back to SE Worcs early evening in rain which seems to have overwhelmed the road drainage. Lying in bed know listening to the wind and rain batter the windows.

Bring back the snow.

my car 335d xdrive on continental ts870s completely unstopable. 6-8 incvhes of snow on the driveway, reverse into siding, drive forward through the even deep stuff near the road, stop in the deep stuff then jsut drive off. what a machine.

works ford delivery vans on michalin cross climates. drove up a steep hill that another car slid back down from no problem and delivered shopping to a customer who met me at the end of their farmtrack in an agrocat.

That's got to be a worry. My Vantage on Pirelli Sottozeros stops just fine.

A relative's gas boiler packed up just over a week ago, they've been "surviving" by living in one room and an electric blower heater, they should open all the windows to let the heat in!

If this rain carries on today i wouldnt be surprised if south wales gets to the flooding levels of 2020 there are road around by me that have turned into rivers with the amount of rain currently. 4 main roads out of my village are all flooded currently or are rivers. My parents neigbhours has a drain thats flooding out into their back kitchen not what they need as they are in their 90s.
