If you don't fall into their tick boxes they can't help and walk on by.

At this rate my child will give up and take her life and I'm powerless to help cry
I sympathise with you. Is it possible to put the above in writing to the relevant NHS department? would that spur them into action?
I apologise if you've already done this and I've missed it.

Sorry to read this.

It's sad but true that the NHS mental health crisis services are struggling, someone close to me was given a 3 week appointment after talking therapies only heightened their suicidal thoughts.

In my very limited experience anti depressant drugs are great for physical symptoms of depression and mood but invariably do nothing for suicidal thoughts, there is some evidence they can make them worse as they break down all sorts of inhibitions which is why they're so effective against anxiety.

It's a nightmare, id be looking for avenues of self help if I were you, Samaritans or mind will have great resources to look into and there is counselling available outside the NHS, its just my opinion buy I think social media is a massive cause of anxiety and stress to teenagers so I'd look to be cutting that out.

There is self help stuff out there if she's willing to give it a go.

i struggled at school and in hindsight wish i had left and started a career. i have no help whatsoever from my doctors, school etc and ended up paying the price later in life. Looking back counselling would have helped, i also kept clear of anti-depressants as i react very badly to them, and not a fan of the chemical approach.

Always talk and never judge, there is a way forward, it can be hard to find to find the right path.

Not sure how much help I can offer, but I've sent a PM about some of the services we've used with our kids

My son had similar thoughts and had a melt down after downing a bottle of vodka,he had low self esteem and self worth. He had had trouble at school through no fault of his own as a result of us moving to France. We tried French school and then moved to an International school to take Cambridge GCSE as he wanted to return and do higher education in the UK when tbe time came.Anyway his melt down came 3 weeks before the exams and he didn't sit any of them.
So we rented a flat, enrolled him at college and now is on the road to being a happy young man with some good friends.
We had tried therapy, family therapy, bribery, all sorts but eventually we found a cure for his deep rooted unhappiness and found a solution.

I hope you can also find your solution.
