That’s amazing great effort.
I am early days (day 8) on MJ and definitely in a honeymoon period (7lbs) my appetite to eat junk/drink beer has gone. I guess it’s bit placebo but great to hear from real folk sharing their journey. Anything you would like to share good/bad… I can also see this as a life changer for me …
I would say don’t rush up the dosage. I have been on 5mg since the 2nd month, and it’s been working extremely well. Drinking has zero interest at all. I find I am much less likely to binge spend on things I don’t need. Just eat small portions, having a “treat” day will ruin you for the next 2 days! I am saving more than I am spending on MJ as I am not eating junk food etc. Also drink plenty of water!

Any other questions more than happy to help smile

I have a quick one question re repeat ‘prescriptions’, I have just started with MedExpress, so after the first 4 weeks do I order during week 3 of that cycle or do MedExpress manage this on your behalf? Thanks
Can only speak for pharmacy2u. They emailed me with a discount code. I ordered online, process similar with questions, no photo needed to be submitted the second time. Depending on how you store it I would advise ordering it at least five-six working days before you need it to allow approvals and shipping.

22% body fat is classed as lean, abs would start to be visible at 20-21%. Does that sound right? Surprised anyone would be able to supply the jabs at that body fat percentage.
You aren't seeing any abs till you get to below 15% body fat. I'm 5'11 73kg, as my daughter puts it nicely I have a 'one pack' smile.

When my body weight dropped below 70kg about 2 years ago due to self inflicted injury and than essentially not been able to ear properly for 6 week, I had some abs definition starting to be visible. BMI at that point was just below 21, and my watch said my body fat was sitting at 16%. But I also lost a whole load of muscle, and it took another 6-12 months to build back up to the weights I was lifting before the injury/weight loss.

I've posted in the weight loss thread, but I'm giving this a go. I've always been bigger, being over 100kg since I started tracking on MFP in 2013, briefly dropping to 92kg back in late 2013. I think I maxed out at 119kg.

I do loads of exercise. I run, cycle and/or dog walk every day basically, yet I can't seem to get below the magic 100kg. I got to 103.2 in 2023 and 104 in 2024 but I clearly lack willpower. I don't think I eat too badly, but clearly o do. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't have a chocolate bar and/or sweets, some cake etc.

I'm currently 106.5kg, and my jab arrives today. My plan is just to use it for 4 or more likely 8 weeks and see if it can help me just drop those last few KG. If it works for me and I can get to 95ish I'll be absolutely over the moon. Movement etc isn't my issue. Eating st is, and I can't stop myself!

You have to re-order yourself every time. Hope it's going well for you so far.

A week in. I'm not tracking weight loss as such. I've been the weight I am now with a 32in waist in the past but I've definitely lost a bit of fat already.

Two side effects, I sometimes get the symptoms of being hungry, light-headedness etc without actually feeling hungry, guess that's not really a side effect, it's exactly what it's supposed to do.

I am getting a fair bit of acid reflux though, enough to wake me up in the night. Otherwise no other side effects, it just works and I'm not even trying to help it along with will power.

The drug companies must be raking in billions, if they can lower the price to say £50 a month they'd have half the western world on it.

You must be fairly slim already if you're a 32 inch waist. What are your aims with taking it, are you trying to shed a few kg presumably (even though you're not tracking the numbers).

I've not had those side effects but I think others have. Some YouTube vloggers shared this but I think they only lasted 3-4 days and it goes away.

Agree, I can imagine this drug will only grow in popularity and will become way more mainstream than it already is.

I'm on 2.5mg. About to take my 3rd jab on Thursday, so over the half way point. I am tempted to go up to 5mg and stay there.

I'm not sure I've felt much different with the 2.5mg. I have had brilliant results, but I always do when I truly dedicate myself to losing weight and fitness.

In about 10 days I'll put my order in and will have to decide whether to stick on 2.5 or go up to 5.

Interesting to read so many additional benefits in the research with this class of drugs.

On here a lot have cited loss of interest in alcohol too, I wonder if that’ll become another good reason to prescribe it too.

I'm in my 9th week now and have completed 5mg.

I've dropped from 16st 2lb to 14st 9lb which is great.

I thought 14 & 1/2 stone would be the goal but now I'm almost there I'm going to keep going.

New goal is 90kg and see what that look like.

Got my 7.5mg pen as I definitely felt food noise last week or so. Hopefully 7.5mg will be the highest I go to and can drop back in a months time.

Mounjaro yep. I had 2 days of pretty bad side effects...but they did pass and obviously not bad enough to make me stop.

I haven't told anyone really as for the most part its just boring replies...you have help quitting smoking with medication, help with depression, with medication...and a trillion other things medication helps. Not sure of the stigma attached to weight loss. For me, move more fatty clearly didn't work but this does. I am happier, healthier and a much more positive outlook on life. I have started taking much more pride in my appearance and have landed a big promotion at work. Life right now is pretty good. Long live MJ!

20% in that photo has visible abs. Sure, they're not as defined as the others, but you can definitely see them.

Would you mind saying how long you have been on it? My wife started on the 2.5mg dose at the weekend, she has had no ill effects so far.

I understand at the end of 4 weeks, she will go to 5mg (I'm aware a friend of hers was up to 17.5mg at one point, and now coming back down).

I think you mentioned you stuck at 5mg, which seems a good way to have a sustainable drop, and that hopefully means at the desired level you could go 2.5mg, then come off it.

I started in May. My wife is also doing MJ and has reached 15mg. She followed the gudielines of upping every 4 weeks/4 jabs. Problem is it’s left no where for her to go. She has maxed it out, and I am actually losing more weight than her and have lost more in a shorter amount of time than she has managed. If the lower doses at working the thing seems to be to stay as low as you can for as long as you can. You might need more will power but you will anyway when you come off it, so maybe not making it “too easy” might not be a bad approach.

Thanks for the replies re the follow on order process, new entry in calendar ‘fat jab for Chris’.

Also some excellent results so far, well done everyone!

Personally I haven’t felt any changes / side effects yet, is this normal? I feel not bothered about food at the moment if that makes sense.

Thanks for all advice so far - keep going everyone!

For those taking Mounjaro, how quickly did it start working for you, and what did 'start working' feel like?

I took my first dose at 1400 today. Just wondering what I can expect really.

Took mine on Sunday (first dose), not feeling anything yet, but I’ve become not too bothered about food….

I’m reading on some other forums that taking a break for a few weeks and then starting on a much lower dose has had some impact for those who have gone up the doses quite quickly. I’ve got a 12.5 pen in the fridge to start when I finish this 10 having been up the doses fairly quickly, and I’m a little worried how I phase that down and maintain. Got about 20lb to go to my intended weight (start 275, current 215, original goal 196) and was intending to drop down to 10 after this pen and then down to 5, then spreading the doses out for longer than 7 days between dose but it seems there may be some merit in cold turkey for a few weeks and then restart at 5.
