That’s how I used to be when I used to smoke. Happy with tea and tabs all day until I nearly fainted. If these injections pens replicate that then I’m tempted. All my issues with weight began after I gave up the fags.

Even though I started this thread I never did try them. I think I decided to give it a go but the online pharmacy where I was considering buying it from had subsequently started asking for full-frontal photos which simply wasn’t going to happen. Though I could have shopped elsewhere, I simply forgot about it.
The required photos are more as a safety precaution to stop those who are more aiming for a dangerous size zero etc or excessive multiple prescriptions. There was some criticism on a channel 4 documentary about minimal checks etc.

How do they know it's a photo of you though? It could be one you've grabbed off the internet.

Do they care, if their due diligence box is appropriately ticked? They aren't asking for your benefit.

This is my 14th week on mounjaro, I started at 140.6kg and have lost just over 17kg.

I had some real wins in the last couple of weeks that weren't purely scale related which has been a huge boost for me. I travelled to the US for work for a week and despite the portion sizes etc, came back weighing slightly less than when I went. I also managed to sit (fairly) comfortably on the 9hr flight rather than trying to make myself small and being uncomfortable the whole time. Finally, I had to buy a new suit too, my old one now looks like I'm 14 and wearing my dads jacket.

Mark Lewis the youtuber has done a great video on the jabs which is very similar to my opinion on them but says it far clearer than I could.

Its interesting to see how this thread has evolved since its start, few people had heard of them 12 months ago, now, you probably know someone thats taking it, even if they wouldn't come out and tell you.

Well done. It’s a game changer. I’ve lost 5 stone/32kg since the start of May.
In fact did an injection this morning.
Feel better. Look better and now hitting the gym 5 times a week.
The big weight losses do slow down but still steadily going down.
There’s many reasons we are obese. Mostly genetic and mental health based. This is a tool to help.

I'm keen to start on mountaro asap however currently have to hold off as my wife and I are doing IVF.

One question - can you still enjoy a meal out? I appreciate the portion size is much reduced, but if there is no craving for food, is it no longer enjoyable to eat decent food?

Food/ cooking is a real passion of mine, and I have a little niggle that being on the jabs may kill that passion. I know it needs to be done health wise so it wouldn't stop be taking then, but it would be good to have some insight from those on it.

My wife wants the food, when it arrives she eats a much smaller amount of it. Wastes loads as she still hasn’t cracked the correct portion size

Weight loss is ongoing for her but fairly slow as she isn’t exercising much

I’m only a couple of weeks in, but so far it isn’t stopping me enjoying food, just I have no interest in snacking and the voice in the back of your head that says ‘EAT, dammit, gorge yourself’ is as good as silent.

I did find I crave different things though - in the first week I found myself feeling the way I used to feel about a chocolate bar, but the new target of food lust was an avocado…

Mounjaro user here. Started in June and immediately felt fuller quicker, and thus eating less.
Second month we were in the States and eating out every night! With the well known issues of USA portions I would often feel really uncomfortable … so my view is if you wanted you could eat and overcome the effect of the injection!

When I got back on 29 Aug I was 126.9kg. Started the third month and became really disciplined. Small bowl of shredded wheat/cereal in the morning, soup for lunch, much smaller than usual evening meal. Snack mid morning would be fruit. No other cravings … good gradual weight loss, coupled with a feeling of energy and well being.
Weigh in today…. 114.8kg… so quite pleased. Target of 110 by Xmas, and under 100 by May… think I am well on course and hopefully will better my targets.

All helped with a new dog which needs a lot of walking… easily hitting 12000-15000 steps a day, even with an office/desk job.

The real benefit is countering my nemeses … cheese and biscuits late at night. There is no cravings whatsoever, and I could go without the lunches if I happen to be busy/ occupied. Also, I take the jab on Thursdays… I do find hunger increasing by Wednesday, but that means I can generate the will power to not scoff.

Side effects… constipation but sorted with dulcolax (or whatever it’s called). Dr does not seem concerned.

Ordered through a well known online pharmacy who call monthly to check on progress, who are in regular chats with my GP, who in turn calls me to double check.

It is the game changer people talk about. I am hoping that because the loss is quite gradual, keeping it off will be easier. We shall see.

Happy to answer Qs.

Mine is private - unsure whether any get it on the NHS as yet - I know they were talking about it a week or so ago on LBC...!

Which online pharmacy are you using & did you discuss it with your GP first?

Assured Pharmacy - and discussed with GP because the AP insisted - they wrote to him - that provoked a call from the GP to me to discuss. GP went away and did some background checks on AP too - came back positive. He is taking a keen and detailed interest - which is reassuring.

Your experience may vary, substantially. No consultation between my provider and GP. Was some automated questioning including which GP I was registered with, but I don’t think there was any communication as there wouldn’t have been time between me filling form in and getting approved / order being sent.

Be interesting to see how users feel once they stop treatment - if/when the weight returns.

The pens just suppress your appetite. If you stop with the pens and return to your old habits the weight will go back on.
