It's results like this why I think you'll win the league. Your defense is solid so you don't concede many and it means you can grind out results, even if you don't play too well in some games. Add in a pinch of luck plus a few marginal pens and the few results that could have got away from you go your way. The league is a lot more competitive this year which means It's these small margins in a handful of games that could well get you there.
I'm not thinking we'll win the league yet but the rest of this is right enough. We were looking quite average for long periods of games in the early part of the season and yet were tight enough at the back to get a result. Big difference over last season, when we needed to be firing going forward to counteract the dodgy defending. The whole team defends better now (although the 2 big signings clearly help with that, we have balanced our play somewhat, also). Still plenty of time for the wheels to fall off but hey, not today. Staying top for a wee bit longer.

Lovren is back last I think from Matip and Gomez so doesn't really matter..
Rather him in midfield when they're back we missed his forward passing today for me.
Agreed, we do need him in midfield. Was just making an observation that I thought Fab played well and did the simple things right. Never made me feel nervous. Rather him in midfield when they're back we missed his forward passing today for me.
Midfield was way too static today; although improved second half. Keita was poor mid-week so wasn't surprised that we didn't see him until late on. Matip should be back for the next game so maybe Fab moved back into midfield
I didn't think Fab played brilliantly at CB. You can see it's not his natural position. Several times there were opposition players he had no idea about right behind him. Including a chance late on where one of their strikers was about to bring the ball down from a long cross after Fab completely missed it.
Looking forward to Gomez getting back.

I would have to agree. He did good enough, but would likely be shown up on the odd occasion against better teams. It's not a bad thing, just you can see it's basically his first time there and not his natural position, with our team.Looking forward to Gomez getting back.

Anyone see the rumour that Barca are looking to offload Coutinho and Utd are interested?
I assume it's rubbish but can't do much for the player.
Saw it reported on TEAMtalk as from a Spanish newspaper. Took it with a pinch of salt. I think he‘d also been linked with City.I assume it's rubbish but can't do much for the player.
Would you have him back? At less than we sold him for?
