Harry Wilson has scored eight goals from outside the box in all competitions this season,at least twice as many as any other player in the top four tiers of English football in 2018-19

Sturridge off in the summer
Don't think many will shed a tear for him or Moreno leaving. We will definitely need a new LB and 2 forwards in the summer - here is a random thought - could Harry Wilson be converted to play at LB? Has the pace, energy and crossing ability - potentially a useful backup to Robertson. Thoughts?

Brewster will probably replace one of Origi or Sturridge - probably will also need to sign a top quality forward to challenge Firmino/Salah.

Have you seen him play this season? I'm not saying he doesn't put the work in, but he rarely gets back and defends. Would be like having another Moreno there. I get that our full backs like to get forward, but I don't really understand why would you want to have such a creative, forward thinking player shoehorned at left left back, especially considering how dangerous he is around the edge of the box. Surely he would be better off as an alternative to Shaqiri?

I think we 'lack' someone who has the confidence to shoot consistently 20/25 yards out like Coutinho did, so he could add another dimension there when our front 3 aren't clicking.

Totally agree - like converting shaquiri to a LB

What happened to Klopp liking players covering different positions?
Isn't Klopp a coach?
Was Henry a winger before he was a striker?
Did Camacho play as a striker the other day?
Could it be an opportunity for him to get 1st team exposure?
Did Fabinho play RB before playing as a midfielder. Last time I checked, he played in central defence.
Free up funds for other positions?

It isn't rocket science. My initial opinion was simply he could with the right coaching take a position in the 1st team squad to cover an area where we will be missing a player in a few months times. Not to say he needs to stay there all his life.

Fabinho started as a RB at Monaco before they converted to to CDM. IIRC all his Brazil caps are at RB.

AIUI he prefers CDM but Brazil are/were quite heavily stocked in that position but not so much at RB so he had more of a chance of getting a spot at RB

(vague memories of discussions around this when we were linked with him eons ago)

Yes, you've players like Casemiro and Fernandinho knocking about.

However, he was RB at Monaco for a couple of seasons before moving to CDM.

Bit of bloody diff, making an out and out creative player a defender,.

I wonder how far Adam Lewis is off coming through, be 187 now, remember Gerrard hailing him as a proper player when he was in charge of the youth.

No doubt JK will have a plan for next season.

Klopp confirms TAA won’t be out that long ..in fact will probably be ready for our next league game

Jurgen Klopp has ruled Rhian Brewster out for the rest of the season, says he's had "a little surgery" and is in a good way but he won't be considered for first team until summer time. Ki-Jana Hoever, who turns 17 today, is also eligible for a first professional contract. - obviously wants him 100% for next season

Klopp on Brewster/Ox: "He's outside running & is in a good way. But we don't have to think about him before pre-season. Alex is closer, last time I put a bit of pressure on the medical department. He looks without any problems, no swelling. I think you'll see him this season."

Klopp confirms Gini may make it tmro too ..I still think he will be rested though as we have sufficient cover this week with fab and hendo but great to know it’s nothing serious

Another transformation in the club that's really encouraging - the way transfers (both in and out) and contracts are being managed feels completely different to a few years back.

Yep Michael Edwards really is the GOAT at transfers and contracts.

Not only does he get us top dollars for players he is willing to sign them too, unlike some. All our top players are young, contracted down and play multiple positions.
No doubt he will also get the Spurs boys backs up even more come summer when he spends another 100m+, can't wait smile

Didn't we poach Michael Edwards from Spurs?!

I have a bad feeling about this weekend. Apparently Hodgson has never lost at Anfield (as the away manager) and he's confirmed he's bringing in a keeper for his first start since 2017 - he's bound to have a blinder!!

No tears when Moreno leaves, I'll pack his bags for him.

Bit unlucky for Sturridge, he just had too many injuries to get any momentum these last few years, he definitely adds something different and needed to the squad.

It will be a shame when Sturridge leaves, he's genuinely a world class finisher, but his body has let him down.

Watching him on LFC videos he's really funny imo and gives the impression that he's a great guy to be around too, his teammates seem to love him so he'll defo be missed.

Glad you put 'as the away manager' in there, I've managed to block them out but I definitely witnessed a couple of losses in person!!

I feel semi confident, but they recently put 3 past city at home so we'll have to be very careful.

Body and attitude/character.

Steveie alludes to it in his autobiography... sort of says Sturridge only needs to feel the slightest twinge then he’s off to see the trainer and won’t play until he feels 100%.

He’s scored some brilliant goals for us, but he’s spent far too much time injured.
