Maybe because I have been paying less attention as I think football is a bit of a damp squib without fans, but, the stealth of this run you guys have put together seems to be quite staggering, its just like it happened without anyone really noticing. Probably aided by everyone paying more attention to the hilarious implosion of the "Dynasty"

laugh City had the same players at the beginning of the season and were losing and drawing matches... nobody mentioned City then. Not until Pep got the team performing as a unit and winning did the sour grapes appear. biggrin[url]

This sort of article is a really nice thing for a player to say. Sums up what sort of club MCFC is now.

Give City the title now. Only team who deserve it who’ve managed to break free of tedious boring points dropping.

I'll probably regret saying this come late Sunday afternoon but I think United could play both of the 'keepers they love and you'd still win. Another 6-1 would be superb ... but I'd settle for anything over 4.

You have to remember City have effectively started from scratch. Youth players at this point aren’t always about 1st team development, there’s a financial element as well. As time goes on I can see more Academy players making the step up, there’s several on the cusp at the moment and have played in cup games.
Until very recently, top youth players wanted to go to the likes of Utd , a big London club or Liverpool etc because of the opportunities, the money on offer, the standard and their history. The facilities and opportunities are making City a top choice these days.
Also the games changed in the last decade. It’s not just City who want success now not later. Back in Fergie's day the majority of the team were English. It’s not uncommon for teams to start a match with a majority of foreign players these days.
In short, I really don’t think there’s any value in comparing what used to happen to what happens these days smile
In City's 1968 championship winning side every single player was English.

Dowd/Mulhearn, Book, Pardoe, Doyle, Heslop, Oakes, Summerbee, Bell, Lee, Young, Coleman, Sub Dave Connor.

Pity it's not the same now, but that's the way it is.

The days of United's class of '92 are probably in the past unfortunately, and fans probably like to see world class players from all over the world these days.

If Utd play like they did last night and we play like we have done lately then we’ll batter them.
However Derbies are funny things and I wouldn’t be surprised if there was only 1 goal in it.

Same as your league position. Managed to drop down the table without anyone noticing too thanks to us.

Rashford, Greenwood, mctom, tuanzebe, lingard (assume he will go back) are all united youth I believe. Not like it’s miles away from class of 92, just not all spectacular players but (mostly) first team players playing most weeks.

Good for them, I have a soft spot for Burnley, always have a good solid fan base (excluding the suicide squad)

To be fair they're pretty solid (The SS).

Proper small town really and the fact they've been in the EPL for a few years is a fantastic achievement.

I see United dropped points, Man City genuinely need about 4 wins (including one against United at the weekend) and it's over.

Respect to you LL. you’re one of the few unbiased posters when it comes to City. Guvernator gets my applause also. You actually speak up for City, when it comes to the bitter reds. thumbup

Could be quite a dull game today,
Ole only knows one tactic against better teams. Frustrate at the back and hope to catch on the break.
One goal in it IMO, but if went 2 infront I’d expect more.

Gone for 2-0 but yes if they have 10 men back and have a couple with pace to break away. Hopefully Stones & Dias will sort it. Keep Ederson within 18 yards of his goal laugh

1st Derby in ages that I’m not evenly slightly nervous beforehand.
I’m not saying I’m over confident, Derby’s are unpredictable, just that it doesn’t really matter if we win. Shame Foden doesn’t start though.
