brilliant, I didn't bother to watch MOTD last night but Lineker was pretty scathing with his comments on ttter.
Lineker was scathing about the decision on MOTD, he had the rule book in front of him and said exactly why the decision was wrong. Dion Dublin and Ian Wright agreed as did everyone I know who’s ever played in or watched a football match.bad company said:

My main concern is they won’t overturn it because it shows that the Dean/Mason clearly do not understand the rule violent conduct. Having had the opportunity to look it over and still come to that conclusion. I worry the boys club somehow conspire to not overturn to save ending up in that conversation. coldel said:

Caught between doing the right thing and admitting their officials are muppets. Like it shouldn't be a hard decision, but with Dean and Mason already getting pelters from Southampton it's not a good look for the FA and PGMOL. Serves them right, mind. Hopefully the appeal succeeds and justice prevails. Fingers crossed to see him on the losing side on Tuesday coldel said:

Anyone else reckon we should rest Antonio?
He does seem to be lagging a bit and. Getting frustrated with himself a lot on the pitch. Question is what else do we do? Without the willing runner into the channels our system breaks down. False nine is not something you can just switch on and off, it needs a pretty special player in there (considering it was invented by the likes of Messi/Totti). I do fear he will just end up run into the ground, I presume he will play in the FA Cup?I haven't seen a single piece of opinion from any quarter saying there is mitigating circumstances that would allow an award of a red card. I get refs make wrong decisions in the moment but clearly this is a mistake even when given multiple opportunities to view it by both Mason and Dean. It has to be overturned, any other decision is clearly just a boys club protecting their own.
In this case, VAR is not the issue, like any tool, if used by unskilled people it wont do its job correctly.
