It's this part that gets me tingling honestly. I hope it's confirmed soon so I can get excited about another false dawn. biggrin

Apparently he was offered the Chelsea job previously, but only took the United job on the promise of the role after the season. I’m hoping he become DoF.
Wouldn’t that mean Murtough and Fletcher the Football Director and Technical Director are both appointing the bloke who will do their jobs as Director of Football?

Also, I thought Poch didn’t like to work with a Director of Football.

I’m not sure what the future holds for us, I’m much more upbeat about it than I was a few weeks ago though. I’m just praying that for once the club’s executive management manages to make the right decision and this very much seems like a good start

It’s a public sector play. Appoint someone to do your job so you can get paid for nothing.

Asseemingly he knock back Chelsea after Lampard "its not for me"

I also hadn't really known much about him prior to 2 weeks ago when rumours first appeared.

Everyone says he's been a success everywhere despite the lack of trophies... I'm pretty excited and after watching most of the your tubers reactions and thoughts over the last couple of weeks Ralf was getting my vote even if I hadn't ever watched one of his teams teacher

Well he's taken his current team from second last season to fourth so far this, bottom of their EL group, and after spending a comparatively large sum on transfers.

You do know he's not the manager there right?

Music to my ears. Very much what I’ve been asking for us to be doing, but obviously he see,s to know how to coach it in and clearly has a style of play. Think Maguire is going to struggle to play in that style, as well as Pogba. Midfield has a big job on their hands too. A very big job. The idea of pressing high and quick will be tough for them given they’ve l,ahead at a snails pace with sideways passes for so long. I’m guessing we won’t see Static Matic in a red shirt again

Yeah he's got an amazing football brain and won't take any st either! I agree that Pogba and Matic will struggle with his style. I honesty think Fred will massively benefit though and we're likely going to see a different player than under Ole. As technical players, Sancho, Donny, Greenwood and Bruno are going to excel too imo.

His role there as a sort of executive DoF is in many ways supposedly more important and influential than the coach/manager.

Suppose the difference being he has been as close to winning trophy as we have in recent years, with far superior squads...

Fraid so, he’s perfect for the energetic pressing game discussed in that youtube clip.

Potentially. Quick, works hard, no issue putting in a shift if needed.
