If Rangers win their qualifying round to reach group stages does that affect the amount of money received by Celtic?

If I’m reading Twitter correctly Russian clubs have been chucked out of Euro comps for next season which means the Scottish champions will now go directly into the Champions League group stage.

The league runners up will go into the 3rd qualifying round (unless Rangers win the Europa League in which case they will also go straight into the Champions League group stages).

The BBC report says Hearts are also guaranteed group stage football. I assume that's the conference league if they don't get through the Europa League qualifier.

That's still a lot of money for Hearts.

The TV rights get shared out so it would take a share of that. I don't know how much that is though.

Great news.

I don't hold out much hope for Celtic in the CL. If we got 3rd place that would be a good result. Same if The Rangers managed to qualify.

Just hope Hearts can pick up a few coefficient points to help out.

A favourable draw is required. Celtic are often unlucky in the draw and get really strong groups even as a pot 4 team.

The qualifiers are always a nightmare and far from certain progress. Getting direct access to the groups is huge. Money can be spent as income is guaranteed. Some players will come for the CL.

Reports today say Jota will sign permanently. That would be huge for Celtic. Until it happens I'll still be doubtful.

Our luck with the draws is horrendous. Even with the EL.

True. The draw this year and everyone said Celtic's draw in the EL was harder that Rangers. Celtic earned 9 points in a hard group and didn't go through. Rangers earned 8 in an easier group and did get through.

With russia being banned so will pick up even less coefficient points means they'll be well behind us next year aswel. Having 3 teams earning points will be huge. Should get us in the champions league for a good few seasons.

Another £2m apparently.

Although celtic have to pay an extra £800,000 for barkas since we qaulified for the champions league. Worst keeper signing in history.

As a Celtic fan with no cultural or religious axe to grind, can I say best of luck Thursday to Rangers. You can do it!!
Good on you and thank you!

Butterflies already this morning, I was 14 when I watched novo rattle that penalty home in fiorentina and was incredibly lucky to then get a ticket(and skip my exams to go!). I now have my own son and came to the realisation that for many it will be their first taste of being on the cusp of getting to a European final and for many others the last, it was 35 years previous to 2008 that we were last in a euro final and 14 years since Manchester. It’s a huge huge once in a generation event game that I literally cannot wait for, win or lose I’ll be incredibly proud of the team’s achievements to get here because let’s be honest, Scottish clubs should not anywhere near this level with the financial disparity between the leagues.

Rb Leipzig are a tremendous team and we’ll need a good dose of luck to get by them but tonight is definitely going to be special.

Mon the rangers!

Absolutely outstanding tonight, deserved the win and the atmosphere was incredible. That's 2 German teams down, can't see why we can't make it 3.
A great night for Scottish Football

Rangers must be the favourites to win the Europa league now. It just goes to show, you don’t need to spend 100s of millions on a squad to do well in Europe, just a pact with the devil or something

It's great to see Rangers in European final again, however a team like Rangers has no chance in the Champions Leaque.

That's the reality,

hmmm, I'd say both of them have a very good chance in the CL (just not this year) smile
