Well I used to watch them in the glory days in the late sixties, the names roll off the tongue, Sprake, Reaney, Cooper, Bremner, Charlton, Hunter, O'grady, Lorimer, Jones, Giles, Gray, sub Peter Madeley.....

I'm no fan of Leeds but this is more the team I remember 1-11
Sprake, Reaney, Cooper, Bremner, Charlton, Hunter, Lorimer, Clarke, Jones, Giles, Gray ...
I remember them losing the title though at home 0-1 to a clearly off-side goal by Colin Suggett of WBA

Revie wasn't pleased ... !
But I also remember the sublime performance beating Southampton 7-0 at Elland Road - too cocky by half complete with Johnny Giles backflick.
Keith Macklin used to cover their games (well all Yorkshire games) on ITV - Hugh Johns did the Midlands and Gerlad Sinstadt the Manchester and Liverpool Games. that and Brian Moore (RIP) the London ones ... Can't remember the name of the bloke who did Ipswich - Gerry ... ?
Those were the days.
My mate can recite the Ipswich glory team of the 80s the same way. Cooper, Burley, Mills, Wark, Hunter, Beattie, Muhren, Thijssen, Mariner, Gates, Brazil ...

I remember once going down to my uncles in Southampton when i was a boy and he took me to see Southampton v Leeds in the late 60's,i think Leeds lost the game 2-1 due to a Gary Sprake mistake,he came off in tears.
From what i remember it was a big game for both sides as Leeds were near the top and Southampton were near the bottom.

Mike O'grady pre-ceded the Allan Clarke team, by about a year, I remember going to watch Clarke's home debut.....
However the team that really rolls of my tongue is the swashbuckling 1968 First division championship winning Manchester City team...I was in the crowd at Newcastle the day they clinched the league........

Dowd/Mulhearn, Book, Pardoe, Doyle, Heslop, Oakes, Summerbee, Bell, Lee, Young, Coleman, sub Connor, together with the dynamic managerial duo of Joe Mercer/Malcolm Allison....
Goalkeeper Harry Dowd was really more interested in plumbing than football, and big Mal once gave Harry one of his famous team talks where he told him......"Harry, we're playing Arsenal on Saturday and they play in Red and White"......

Something offensive
Totally uncalled for.....

My boys are not poor either, they both have degrees in computer engineering.....
Grow up.
Slight lapse on part of deb. She's only "new".
Slight banter is mildly acceptable but proper baiting is not for here.
