There has been rumours of it, and the owners did have a chat with Mourinho about taking over.

Personally, whilst I'm not confident Farke could keep us up, he deserves a chance to do so.

Firstly congratulations, proper team that should be in the top flight.
Thanks, it's good to be back although we're under no illusions how difficult it will be to stay there!

Secondly is it true that you may be sacking your gaffa? That seems daft even for this lunatic league.
I'm hoping it's just social media nonsense but if it's not it's worrying and disappointing. Yes Farke failed to keep Norwich up after getting them promoted but he was given next to no money to spend and was forced to compete in the PL with what was in effect a Championship team; so no surprise he failed and I suspect most other managers would have done the same given the hand he had to play.

Personally I think after what he's done this season he's earned the right to have a decent crack at it in the PL with us. I think the money will be available to do some selective strengthening of the squad so if that happens and we're struggling come, say, November I could perhaps understand the club looking at it then. However, to give the bloke no chance at all would seem extremely harsh and unfair and to be honest just the talk of it has taken a bit of the shine off getting promoted on Monday. Hopefully the club will move to quash the rumours sooner rather than later because if they don't people - including possibly Farke and the team - will start to believe there's some substance to them....

I appreciate you're typing tongue in cheek but that sounds anything but perfect to me!

He's got no recent track record of improving team performance by improving the players and it seems to me he now invariably thinks he's bigger than any club he goes to. His over inflated ego would also come with a huge price tag so if we were to get rid of Farke - which I absolutely don't think we should - Jose would be about the last person I'd want to see as his replacement!

I was indeed. I do have a nasty feeling about this though. I think they are going to get rid of Farke.

ETA: I wonder if this is only a surprise to us if Farke does go? Maybe it was known all along to him? Maybe even contractual with a golden thank you payment?

Hopefully I'm wrong, but I also agree with the poster above. If they are going to do it, then do after the last two games and let the new manager hire in the summer.

If the plan is to get rid of Farke then yes, I agree it should be done as soon as the season's complete so the new manager is the one involved in the summer transfer window.

But I do think that would be an extremely shabby way to treat Farke - mainly because it would seem plain unfair given what he's just achieved but also because a change of manager is never a guarantee of improvement. The squad always seems to play for Farke and the spirit in the group is in large part down to him; therefore, if our owners are indeed thinking of making a change, I'd just remind them of that old phrase "be careful what you wish for"...

I always think one the considerations when you're replacing someone - not just in football but any business - is whether there's a better alternative available to replace them. And while I don't know much about Motta I'm not really seeing anything in that track record to suggest he'd be a significant upgrade on Farke which begs the question why bother? The first and only big club he's managed is Juventus where he lasted 5 months before getting sacked...

Yep. If that’s the choice. Definitely keep Farke

Bringing Sir Alex out of retirement would be amusing though

My guess is any sniff of a PL vacancy and all sorts of names come out of the woodwork, probably down to their agents. I don't think Farke's the long term answer personally, however Leeds need to get real and understand the first priority is survival, the second priority consolidation.

The manager whoever it is, ideally needs a pre season and probably some input into any new signings.

Burnley have a similar problem with Parker, stick or twist as I doubt he'd keep them up. I suspect they'll stick but I'm sure Leeds have bigger aspirations.

It doesn't take much for Waccoe to go into meltdown hehe

But Motta is an improvement on the earlier suggestion of Gary O'Neil

I think it'd be incredibly harsh on Farke to get rid and I really hope its all rubbish. He seems like a decent guy who deserves a chance to prove himself again in the Premiership with suitable backing (which he never had at Norwich who it felt like were expected to compete with Championship funding).

If the board are going to do it then a) Farke will go down in history as one of our more successful managers which he deserves; b) any new manager needs to "get" Leeds and be of a suitable calibre to almost guarantee to be better than just sticking with Farke (and be given the time to prove it) and have the funds to make a go of it. Farke seems to get Leeds - he talks about Bielsa and the 18 months between sacking him and relegation and what it means for the club to be back in the premiership. Bielsa got Leeds in a very different way but he understood what it meant to the fans. For all his failings, even Marsch seemed to get it and was clearly passionate about the club.

As a fan I'd rather have someone in charge who knows the history of the club, what it means to the fans and who is committed to the cause rather than someone with a decent reputation who'll be dropped in, achieve some success and then jump at the first opportunity of a "bigger" job etc. And in terms of who that might be, I've absolutely no idea. Obviously theres a chap a few Leeds fans are a fan of in charge of Uruguay at the minute but I doubt he'd return and I think I'd rather just remember him for what he was!

And please, god, no, not Mourinho. He's a managerial merry-go-round dinosaur that should be consigned to the same history book as Big Sam, Steve McLaren, Mick McCarthy, Steve Bruce etc.

They couldn’t fill the stadium when they were in the Premiership, so who’s the extra seating for?

Sigh.

When we've been in the premiership it's regularly been a sell out.

Plus the waiting list for a season ticket is pushing 20,000 so it would easily sell.
