Evening all.
My son is thinking of having a look at this car.
Hes not been driving long, he’s 19.
What do people think, we are new to these cars, so anything to look out for, or steer clear of this one.

It’s very high mileage, but he’s desperate to have one of these.

Any replies/help/ advice would be great.

Regards

Dave.

car looks nice enough , good mot history , back to the insurance question , if it’s running well , the 2 litres are fair tough , mileage is not horrendous

judging by the dashboard, there's a sticker over one of the bulbs, potentially the airbag light? That might cause issues come MOT time. I'd also check insurance costs as well.

It's a few different colours of silver for a start. Most obvious being the NS rear panel. Looks like they've painted half the panel then stopped. It's not been blended in well which means to me they've botched up a rust repair on the front/lower wheel arch as a quick fix.

First one seems to be part time trader, selling for a "neighbour" !
Second seems ok. Has your lad got a quote on one yet?

Hi there.

His insurance is going to be about 1800 a year.
Only been driving 1 year on his own, so no NCD :-(

Silver one had some mot issues which I wasn’t happy with. so said forget that one.

I phoned up about the blue one tonight for him, was told it had just been sold. Buyer purchased without looking at it.
Seemed the perfect car, no mot issues at all according to past tests.
They don’t come up like that often I get.

Has he/you looked at a Legacy instead? Same underpinnings as the Impreza, quite a few new imports coming in, normally a more mature owner and less prone to rust. Would need to be rust proofed underneath if not done by the dealer.
