Replacement choke conundrum
Discussion
The choke on my camper is nackered and is now well on its way to landfill after being binned. I assumed that the replacement part would fit without checking it first (I know, I know), but lo and behold, it doesn't.
I'm now left trying to source a Solex 12v choke element for a 1.8l type 4 VW engine that, apparently, doesn't exist! Nowhere seems to acknowledge the existence of this part, but there are an abundance of the earlier, smaller and useless to me 1.6l type 3 engine ones!
I've tried VW Heritage, JustKampers, Solex themselves and a few indies, but haven't had replies yet. In the meantime, does any bright spark have any ideas where I could look for one of these elusive little buggers?
