Does anyone know the timing belt change intervel on a suzuki swift gls 2001 plate. I have had the car 6 years I think the belt is 8years old now. It has only done around 10 thousand miles with this belt though. Thanks for any input.

You could have put the same question into Google. I found 54,000 miles, or six years, whichever comes first.

The interval isn't just based on mileage. Belts deteriorate over time too. It's definitely overdue. I always change mine on a new car. It's not worth the risk and inconvenience of it breaking. Change the pulleys too.

"Other people" don't always change their belts at the correct interval.

Agree, and compared to most other timing belts/cars it is similar.

I have never heard of a suzuki swift timing belt failure though. Not that that would add any reason to not getting it done.
