50% of the time I start out 2004 Panda, it cranks for a good 3 seconds before you hear a slight belt squeal as it starts. The rest of the time it is instant and no belt noise unless water on the belt from cleaning the car.

I've tried spark plugs, new aux belt (although I changed this before noticing this issue). It has also had a new starter motor as the old one packed up.

I'm not really sure what to try next. It does always start, but it is a bit concerning when you are listening to it crank and crank wondering if it will or not... Then the next time it will start perfectly, hot/cold starts don't seem to make a difference.

Any ideas?
