30-70 mph times
Discussion
Cerbera 4.5 (0.60,3.9 and 0-100,8.3)
therefore 60-100 would be 4.4sec.
996TT (0-60,4.2 and 0-100,9.2)
therefore 60-100 would be 5sec
Macca (0-60,3.2 and 0-100,6.3)
therefore 60-100 would be 2 sec!
Will have to grab my copy of Autocar at home to compile some more.

I have to confess to measuring my Civic's 60-100 mph time on the public road, in rush hour (not going with the flow of traffic, I hasten to add) - slightly uphill on a curving motorway sliproad, using the speedometer and a Casio watch strapped round the steering wheel, it managed 9.88s (hey, the accuracy's important when you've got up to 10mph over-reading on the speedo and a reaction time to take into account too...)
I want a GPS speedo thing, I suppose, but it would just encourage me to do it again...

quote:Errrr, Macca = McLaren F1. 'Macca' is to McLaren as 'Tiv' is to TVR and 'Maser' is to Maserati.
What the heck is a Macca? I have read one of the Ultima GTR articles and it mentioned Mike Tyson own a Macca that is incredibly fast, equal to the Mclaren F1.
A.K.A. 'Big Mac'
So its hardly surprising that the 'Macca' is as fast as the McLaren F1 really.

"Having been a bit of a car nut in his heyday, my usually reserved and chilled dad shouted over the engine "fcuking hell, I had no idea cars could do that!".
A few confirmation blats up and down various motorway slip roads and I returned home having slapped a permanent hazy grin on his face - much to the amusement of my mum."

Some seriously fast metal.
The Four posts a very quick 0-60 time (benefits of 4wd). I suspect 30-70 is in the 5-6 second region once on boost.
60-100 is probably around 8 seconds. Power loss due to the complex drivetrain slows the car by this point. The 4wd becomes a parasitic loss and additional mass by this point.
Time for more boost then.
Oh, and I've done something similar to my old mum. Rolled out of town, long straight road, clearway sign. 25mph in second, went WOT. Lifted at 100 leptons. She screamed all the way there.

ive got a leon 5f 2.0 diesel, its been remapped now has 230hp and 465nm, it can do 30-70 in third gear in 5 seconds.
I'm sure it's quick but It can't do that and didn't do it, pleased that the thread was resurrected though Edited by cheddar on Wednesday 22 July 06:57
There used to be a thread for 30-70 mph times but it has been archived now so probably doesn't get much views, so I thought I might start a new one.
I find this kind of metric quite interesting and more relatable than 0-60.
Lets try and keep it light hearted and for comparison rather than proving who is the ultimate top dog. Times don't need to be impressive.
Accurate times using Dragy or similar timing device would be preferable, personally when using Dragy I try and discount anything on a slope greater -0.5 degrees to negate to much gravity assistance.
Obviously all rules of the road to be obeyed when conducting runs, and runs can be done through the gears starting below 30.
I'll kick things off with my car...

I reckon I could better this as I did one run by stamping the accelerator at 28mph in 3rd. Also the sun was in my eyes
I'll try again when I get my Dragy back from my mate.
