The Exorcist III has floating nuns in it IIRC - I saw it about 12 years ago, though - have a vivid memory of this nun flashing by with a HUGE pair of medical shears, about to decapitate someone...

I remember that scene and it wasn't the one I'm thinking of, but that film scared the poo out of me though!

I'm with you on this - It's the last film I saw. And before that it was The Poseidon adventure

Lemmonie is adamant it's not Sixth Sense

Could it be "Stigmata" with Gabriel Byrne and one of the Arquette sisters?

If it isnt Sixth Sense (which to drop into critique for a moment I thought was utter toilet, they may as well have signposted the plot) then Bringing Out The Dead would be my next guess, though I dont remember any dream sequences in that.

Could be any number of bad horror films though.

I haven't seen Stigmata or Brining Out the Dead so I'm pretty sure it isn't those as I definately recognise the scene.

I'm sure the movie is more light-hearted than a proper horror film, it's more along the lines of Sixth Sense. Like a black comedy or a thriller.

She was dressed as a nurse but there is a scene where the statue of the Virgin Mary is floating across a corridor in the hospital.

I think the film you are looking for is The Eye.

Its a Chinese film (sub titled) about a woman who can see ghosts. Very scary film.

Nope, haven't seen it.

This is a well known film I'm sure.

What about "Death Becomes Her"?

that's quite obviously some obscure cowboy-themed film that no girl will ever have watched.
