F1 on Channel 4
Discussion
Seems logical to start a new thread to cover how C4 are doing with their F1 coverage. (The other threads go back to the speculation of who was going to cover it and talk of petitions to get it back on BBC, which aren't going to do any good)
So here can focus on what they are actually doing presenter wise and how the coverage quality turns out.

Anybody know if EJ will be joining them?
Not if they have any sense...but I do get the feeling that they won't be bringing him onboard. What could happen is if they elect to present the highlights show solely from the UK (a very real possibility) they could have him in the studio as a pundit...I cant see Jake going back to F1, even if it's his own company doing the F1 coverage for C4. He made it clear the reasons why he left F1 in favour of football & a lucrative contract with BT Sport and he seems happy doing what he's doing.
Same for Lee - hasn't she already tweeted (or similar) that she is otherwise contracted to the BBC this year for various sports including athletics, horse trials (I think she did Olympia last year) and the Olympics?

Maybe Max Chilton's daddy can throw some money at C4 and buy his son a place on the anchor team, he can't possibly be any less exciting doing that than he was in F1.
Mike Gascoyne; he was pretty good in his one-off appearance some years back. He's probably got some spare time in between boat races.
Even Gary Anderson who, despite looking like a trucker, possesses the rare ability amongst Techie Direckies of being able to put complex ideas into simple language (and pictures) so that those who haven't studied aero can actually understand what the chassis-parts are supposed to do.
I don't like Paul di Resta, i hope he's not involved. He spent his whole F1 career whinging and blaming other people and the few TV appearances he's made since proved that he has a charisma deficiency.

I reckon any recent F1 driver would do a good job. Of course when they're 'moaning' about their own bad races they may grate a little but they are all trained and have a lot of experience in communicating to all levels of people. They have a lot technical insight and most will have some good anecdotes.I agree that Paul di Resta was a bit awkward in front of the camera in his first year in F1 but to my eyes seemed to relax and give a good account of himself thereafter.
