College student mechanical/aeronautical F1 internship

We live in the US. Our son is a junior (5 semesters in, currently interning) majoring in mechanical/aeronautical engineering. He is allowed one more internship. He's a F1 fan.
Do any F1 teams have opportunities for college internships in the aero/mechanical engineering field?

Yes they do as I am sure NASCAR and Indycar design teams do. However the intellectual requirements are very high and usually only those with a qualification and looking at a masters or Phd will be accepted. Undergraduate students unlikely unless very gifted or have a project that involves chassis, powertrain or pure aeronautical benefits.
