I agree too.

The shortening of DRS and the lack of braking points has made it very difficult to pass here, a shame. I still love the circuit though..

I think the WRC might suit Max - running solo on the road against the clock with the need for excellent car control IN DRY WEATHER CONDITIONS WITH PERFECT TYRES. It’s plausible that he could be really competitive, although he’d probably just constantly argue with / blame his co-driver.
I corrected your post for you, not a patch on Lewis or Llando in wet conditions, if it rained at half of his championship winning races, he would not be the runaway winner he was for 2, the third he got because F1 made sure he did ,

Not anywhere near the greats, they can win in the wet, Llando could trump him eventually.
Could not have asked for a better session than that to prove again, just how st a take this was rofl

Max was imperious throughout
We won’t find out until the race though will we? He may have been running a wet set up today?
Just thought I would re-post this classic honda-exige post thumbup
6/10ths clear of the rest in the wet, and still managed to beat Lando who was in the best car from p11 extending his championship lead. He had better or as good dry pace as the Maccas in an inferior car yet gapped them hugely in the wet, 5th highest Qually gap since 2014 iirc. Superb.
Desperate.

Not disputing it, or the opinions following, but could do with a link to support it. Can't see anything on the FIA site.

But actually pretty irrelevant. Looking back at relative performances we can see that when Max struggles with the car Sergio is a lot closer, even in front of Max sometimes, and vice versa. In other words, the more they develop the car to suit Max the more Sergio struggles. Of course RBR are correct to do that since Max is the number 1, and much better, driver. They would do better to find another driver that likes a car 'pointy' in the same way that Max does.

Took his time, but he has earned a little more respect from me if this is true. From Faecesbook:

Max Verstappen's words about Lewis Hamilton on viaplay today:

Max: "It's been an honour to be battling with an eight-time world champion. He pushed me to my limits.

Journalist: "Eight time Champion?"

Max: "I need to be honest… Lewis deserved 2021 if rules were followed”

clap

I'd be surprised if that's what he said and equally very impressed.

I'm still recovering from some celebrations and have not cross-checked. Would be very unlike him, but I always like to give the doubt of the benefit.

I’m surprised more hasn’t been made on his comments about this being his two hundredth race and whether he was looking forward to the next two hundred.

Verstappen said:
So we passed halfway for sure, but it's been already, of course, an incredible ride. I mean, it doesn't feel like 200, but of course, we're doing a lot of races now in a year, so you add them quite quickly
So he thinks he’s already past the half way point in his career.

It wouldn’t surprise me if he took some time out to do other stuff and then came back and smashed the new lot like Lauda did.

If he said that then he truly is learning how to be a proper driver.

He always seems like a lovely bloke out of the car in any event (which surprises me given his upbringing etc)

I'd like to hear him say this. Significant respect for him if he has done so, but I'm dubious until I have heard it for myself.

I’m extremely dubious, if he had said that not only would Twitter be on fire with it but Sky would practically have a one hour special on it.

I'm equally dubious but Sky et al would probably keep their gobs very firmly shut as Verstappen saying that would be the ultimate acknowledgement that the 2021 championship was decided wrongly. It'd be a huge embarrassment for the sport as a whole.

Equally, Twitter probably would be in fire about it (mind you, if a throw away comment in Dutch on a Dutch channel it might take a little to disseminate).

Either way, I get the impression now the general paddock feeling is that it was wrong and Hamilton was robbed.

I highly, highly, highly doubt that this is a genuine quote.

George Russell said something similar this week, I suspect they’re playing on that.

Max is basically giving one of his championships away if it was him. Can’t see any driver doing that.

So he admits he shouldn't be 2021 WDC & RB may have been using very questionable braking system design last year (at least) so he's down to just one valid WDC now?

That has always been the case. Even the drivers right at the time knew it full well, Danny R's radio call was quite shall we say enlightening.

It is just with the passage of a bit of time more and more people are publicly stating it

If that is true, which not going to lie, I struggle to believe, then he just went up a long way in my book.

Yep, sorry guys... Recovering from celebrations earlier. On checking it seems there is no basis for the Faecesbook post (except it is what the majority think).

As you were.
