He really isn’t the best driver outside of Formula 1.
True, in his second year in F2, so far he hasn't even matched the results of a rookie like Pourchaire who has just turned 18.
Pourchaire has been impressive - but it’s Piastri who should be taking all the headlines…

He's made it onto the Official formula one youtube channel.

Let's hope that's the closest he gets to F1. I was particularly irritated by Rosanna Tennant, commentating on Sky for the F2 support race at Silverstone, who kept referring to Ticktum as "home hero Dan Ticktum", proving again that commentators know absolutely fk all about their subject matter.

Clearly employed as a token female in F1. Did someone seriously look at the long line of ex F1 drivers they could have employed instead and thought "No, the best person for the job with the best knowledge is Rosanna Tennant"

Reading some of her online bios is equally as nauseating. It’s ashame as if they really wanted a female presenter there’s a few on TicTok that come across well and have a proper interest in the sport.

Just seen he's signed for NIO in FE... I wonder how long that will last ?

Formula E just seems to be the graveyard for those drivers who never quite made it to Formula 1, or scraped into a hopeless F1 team and were chewed up and spat out.

Formula E - the series no-one cares about, except that we know the teams have budgets to pay six-figure salaries to second-rate drivers. Maybe even third-rate drivers.

He's probably better than 3 drivers who are in F1 next year, comparing at the point when they entered F1.

Not sure but really looking forward to it. I quite enjoy FE but having him there is a bonus from an entertainment and comedy value angle.

Given how often FE manage to make contact with each other, walls etc, box office potential.

He says that the only thing that stopped him from getting into F1 was the lack of Super Licence, as if it’s only bad luck or timing that stops you getting one.

Not exactly the first time ticktum has issued a reflective statement about his behaviour.

It's good he's capable of being humble.. but it does keep happening still!

He's genuinely not a bad racer, in fact, on his day he's been impressive. But he's a hell of a guy to take a gamble on these days - drivers now are under a media/social spotlight and he doesn't exactly tick the right boxes.

You're reading humble in there? I'm didn't get any of that, just how unfortunate he's been with his timing & luck. Humble to me would be admitting he was a dangerous hot headed 4r5e, but he's learned from that.

he's got good legal advice at least.

Seems like he got punished for not filling in the details rather than the crime of speeding. Gets a moderate fine and 6 points, but no ban.

hmm, is there something in this approach...
