The main concern being the race weekend is also the pilot event for the facility.
Sort of - My Dinh stadium has been around a while, so there is -some- track record of large numbers of people being moved in and out of the area.

Get up early and motorbike taxi ftw I reckon, though there are plans for shuttle buses to run.

Worth remembering - you get a free 15-day visa waiver on arrival in Vietnam, just go straight to the immigration desks and have your return flight booking to show them.

I’ve just had a look at the circuit layout and I like the look of T1-T4/5.

I think T6-T9 would be better the other way around.

Last of the late braking into T11 could be fun.

T13-T23 will look epic on board, especially the change of direction but won’t do much for racing.

Middle of the road I think.

Have you managed to find a detailed seating plan anywhere?

Those are big stands on those turns, be good to see what the seat allocations are like.
No I haven't, I was hoping to get one when I received my seating allocation confirmation.

I requested one this morning, and will post if I get any response.
Just received this, we're in C18 which looks pretty good

Top work, thanks Yetski.

C17 here. Before the seats were allocated, the online chat people offered to put in a request for where I wanted, so I asked them for "somewhere near the centre of 2-3-4".

Reckon they've got that about right. smile Looks like a halfdecent view of the pitlane exit, and all of that complex.

I'm hoping to be going out to this.

My wife and I have a Travel Agency and there has been packages on sale for quite a while now.

This method of containment sounds a bit basic/crude. Of course the facilities in Vietnam are not quite what we have over here.. crude measures might be best. But that also suggests if it does start to transmit around Hanoi itself, the containment solutions won't be particularly effective and the Vietnam GP actually could become questionable. Which would be very sad.

Speaking chiefly as an F1 fan. As a human I hope it doesn't spread around too much for all the human reasons too.

....I’m getting a little worried about this, you think it’s getting better then Italy etc..what’s the general consensus? One of the group has already dropped out.. I suppose we just need to wait and see. The dreaded quarantine period worries me tbh over there or back over here afterwards. Due out to HCM on the 28th. Tell me it’s going to be ok 😎

There can be no 'good' advice, no one knows what it'll be like come race weekend. I'd say research other travellers flight experience regards quarantine etc. Personally, if I had flights and hotel booked, I'd still plan to go unless there was a likelihood of quarantine - that obviously wouldn't be fun. The actual personal risk if you're sensible is extremely low and wouldn't stop me boarding the plane.

As for whether or not the GP itself goes ahead, even the organisers probably couldn't tell you. I hope it does.

It's going to be OK.

I still plan to go, and the Vietnamese appear to have a lid on things at the moment, more so than many other countries.

Good luck to Pirelli, Alpha Tauri, Ferrari if they need to return back to base between Bahrain and Vietnam

I suppose the teams may need to limit how many of their key staff are allowed to go home, and when. Which is no doubt possible but what a pain in the backside for the people involved.
