Yep seen that today, crees used to drive for team hard which was always known for cheap rides. Now he drives for btc racing the budget is far higher and with covid 19 hitting I suspect it was take this or no ride. If the team get the money only time will tell..

WHAT ABOUT THE RUMOURS THAT RICH ENERGY HAVEN’T PAID TEAMS/ATHLETES IN THE PAST, WHAT’S NEW HERE?

Not only are OMG Racing fully funded for the 2020 season and beyond, we are also ensuring that Rich Energy’s existing sponsorship agreements are fully paid.
I might be reading between the lines a bit too much, but:

1) OMG Racing being fully funded does not bare any relationship to how much of that money has been provided by Mr. Swampy.
2) Rich Energy’s sponsorship agreements are fully paid, doesn’t actually say how much he promised to pay, paying zero is very easy.

BUT YOU CAN’T EVEN BUY A BL**DY CAN!?
You can now, we’re distributing it right here – Here’s the link to pre-order and as soon as we’re ready to get moving, you’ll be the first to know:

CAN BUY RICH ENERGY FROM OMG RACING?
Yes, you can. In fact they’re so convinced that it’s a good product, we’ll have some free samples for you this year. So you’ll be able to try some for yourself!/quote]

I guess that's still a no to bring able to get a can, yes you can buy one, just not right now, because we don't have any, but we do sell it and our team will give you a free sample, when we make some of the drink we already make, but we're out of stock, just ask Red Bull how hard it is to keep stock of their product, that kind us we are already making.

Be selling Genghis khan's horses next.

How come this thread runs unimpeded but any disscussion about events regarding Specialist cars of Malton gets culled - when it's in the press / courts and public domain anyway?

Genuine question
Suspect because SCOM is a serious matter involving real peoples money and livelihoods, while st-for-brains beardy is an utter joke whose delusions of grandeur are pure entertainment for any one with more than two brain cells to rub together.
Just MHO, but as yet there’s no evidence to suggest any crime has been committed, no-one is trying to take him to court and there’s no case to suggest that public discussion may or may not hinder or influence any ongoing case. So fair game.

I presume superbike teams unlike F1 teams are more likely to need immediate money to fund the team and actually get out and race. So if no money is forthcoming presumably it will go sour rather quickly. So in that respect it will be interesting to see how long it lasts.

Well, not since the unfortunate logo business. smile

At the start of the whole saga it was suggested the idea was to build brand awareness with the intention of selling it to someone who can actually manufacture the stuff.
Apparently the drinks business has been doing this a very long time. I recently heard about a publisher of comic books in the early ‘40s who ran adverts for a new cola. It didn’t exist, but the idea was to create demand and then sell the rights to an existing manufacture. Nothing came of it, and the publisher disappeared without trace.

Why wasn't it ever available in shops? Sounds like they are still going to make you buy it online.

The whole business is weird as hell.

My guess is that they have no money to pay the real producer up front to make it for them. If they sell it on their website then they get a kitty of cash to give the producer to fill a few cans.

I could be wrong but if Tesco ordered 4 million cans, beardy can't fund that, hence nothing on the shelves.

I agree, ramping up from small scale manufacturing to mass market is exceedingly challenging and requires lots of cashflow. This guy comes across as a chancer who doesn't really have the wherewithal do manage that.

Have to disagree there actually! Was as good as Redbull, and definitely preferred the taste over cheapo ones.

Seriously concerned that any more than the 3 cans I had would have given me a huge beard and delusions of grandeur. I'd already started talking to the Mrs using bullst of the highest degree.

Except that the brand and the drink will continue under Rich OMG Ltd. which is trading and is not in liquidation.

It's a bit musical chairs, but they seemed to have swapped names recently, possibly a prelude to one being wound up, given the large hole in the most recent accounts?

Both are run by Alan Lowe of OMG racing, with no sign of the bearded wonder. It's all clear as mud smile

Oldest trick in the book that one. Old company in trouble with lots of debt? Start a new one then change the names over, let the ‘old’ company go skint, then carry on with the ‘new’ company from the same premises, with same staff etc. Bye bye debt, and to the wider world it’s business as usual!

Basic issue still exists though - to all practical purposes, they don’t have any actual product. So a) why advertise and b) why are (any) teams allowing themselves to be sponsored?
